We want to thank the Lord for what he did through the Oklahoma Academy and all our faithful staff and translators! The initial series and health expo is finished for now, however, please continue to pray for the work that was done (seeds that were planted, and the lives that were touched). As well, keep in prayer the follow up that will be commencing very soon! Praise the Lord- He is so good!

After almost 6 months of blockade at the main border point of Nepal, it has been lifted this week! Nepal has suffered untold hardships during this time and many people have died from the interruption of the flow of relief supplies and medicines. Though the situation has not been fully resolved, we are hopeful that this will mean an improving situation in Nepal. Thank you to those who have been praying, and please continue to keep Nepal and our work in your prayers.
Ethnic minority groups in Nepal called a halt to a monthslong blockade of the main border crossing with India on Monday in the interests of relieving severe shortages in the Himalayan nation, even as they promised to continue their opposition to the new constitution .
Greetings from Nepalgunj!
Suein and I, along with the rest of the team, arrived in Nepalgunj this last week and began the work of preparing the learning center. It is a lot of work, but we are excited about the ministry opportunities in this place. Over time we will be offering classes in english, tailoring, music, and computers, as well as after-school tutoring for local children. This Sabbath we were joined by 5 children from the community for our church service. They were so eager to join in the singing and listen to the Bible stories.
Please join us in praying for the work going on here that God will open the door for the gospel to be shared in this mostly unreached area.
Happy New Year 2016!
Only a few more days until this year's GYC conference. If you are attending the conference please take the time to stop by our booth! We thank you all for your prayers and we wish you all a blessed Christmas.
As the crisis in Nepal deepens, the impacts throughout Nepal are more widespread and in some cases worse than the aftermath of the earthquake. With no end in sight we are praying for a speedy resolution before more people suffer and die.
Sanjay Lama moves in and out of the busy pharmacy at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital here in the capital looking for medicine prescribed for his 1-year-old son, Samrat. "It's been almost a week, and I still can't find a bottle of eardrops in any of the stores here. They say it's out of s…
Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and supporters! We are very thankful for the many blessings of God despite the difficulties we are daily facing. Difficult times are opportunities to see God's care and protection in a very marked way.
In our recent visit to Kathmandu, Suein and I came across this protest. This was one of many that have occurred across Nepal as people are seeking an end to the blockade that has been lasting for more than 100 days. Soaring food prices and mile long lines for gasoline and propane are just a few of the immediate effects we have been facing.
For some, the situation is even more severe as earthquake relief supplies and lifesaving medicines have also been prevented from entering Nepal from the southern boarder.
During this thanksgiving time please remember those who are suffering in Nepal and in many other places around the world, and pray that God will use you to bless those who lack physically as well as spiritually.
Only one week left until this year's NYC conference begins. With no signs of improving fuel shortage in Nepal, we are praying that many people will still be able to attend.
Believers worshiping in a makeshift church in earthquake ravaged Sindhupalchok district. As winter approaches and the fuel shortage continues, it will be a very difficult time for many of these communities. Please continue to pray for Nepal, because for many people in Nepal, the crisis is far from over.
The passing of the earthquake crisis, by no means brought around an end to the challenges facing Nepal. Besides the continued recovery, the passing of the new constitution has brought another wave of problems. Now, the supply lines have been blocked from India, and now the gasoline and diesel are running out. Lines at gas stations are up to a kilometer long. Please continue to pray that things will settle down so we can focus on our work. It has been very difficult to travel and work during this time.
Just a quick update:
The new constitution was supposed to be release at midnight, August 24th, but because of the serious nature of the recent strikes, it has been delayed again. There has been a strike in Nepalgunj for over 2 weeks. A few days ago, it became so bad that the government ordered a curfew. As a result the Bible workers have been staying home, tutoring some local children that have been coming over. Food has also run short since it is dangerous to go out, and no trucks or buses are allowed to move. Today it is starting to get better though. Motorcycles and rickshaws are now permitted to move, and hopefully within the next few days it will completely clear. Please continue to pray for Nepal, and our people working in Nepalgunj.
The last few months have been a very turbulent time in Nepal, with the recent devastating earthquake, and now the soon release of the new constitution. This picture is now a common site throughout many parts of Nepal. Strikes have been frequent and protest have sometimes turned deadly as people have been killed in clashes, and bikes and other vehicles have been burned. There are curfews in place in several ares including Nepalgunj. So far we all have been safe. Please continue pray for us and for Nepal, that this violence will end, and that the constitution will not infringe upon religious freedom.
We are so thankful to finally have an air conditioning unit in the studio. It is so much easier to work without sweat pouring down your face. This is especially important for the person speaking! Please continue to pray that the messages will be a blessing to the people of Nepalgunj,
Today, we traveled to the district of Dolakha where we are helping to build temporary school rooms so the children can have a place to study. Now, almost 2 1/2 months since the earthquake struck Nepal, the children still have not been able to start classes. The main building has been condemned by the engineer examiners, and now the school does not have money to rebuild, but at least they have somewhere to start up classes again, as these villagers struggle to return to normal life. They are requesting us to build 6 toilets as well.
We have been so thankful for the ways God has been blessing our work and providing the resources we need to grow and expand the ministry, and I wanted to share a couple of things we are still praying for. 1) An A/C unit. In Nepalgunj it is so hot and while we are trying to film, the speaker is sweating so much that it is running down his face and drenching his clothes. An economical unit that can run off our new inverter costs around $750. 2) If any of you have or know of someone who has any filming equipment they would be willing to donate towards the project, we are hoping for a good quality shotgun mic and a DSLR camera that can film in full 1080p. Other equipment may be useful as well. 3) Lastly we are praying for someone willing to dedicate at leas one year in the mission field who is skilled in video work and or web development. Please spread the word, and pray that God will fulfill these needs.
Children are a blessing
and a gift from the Lord.
We have received a request from a private school in the district of Dolkha, near the epicenter of the second earthquake, to help with rebuilding their school so the children can continue their education. They have been able to get support for other aspects of the construction, but are still needing the metal sheeting for the roof. We will be visiting this week to assess the situation and write up a budget proposal for the project. Also, the toilet construction project in Jolbire is nearing completion, and we will post more information about that soon.

One month and 2 days since the terrible earthquake struck Nepal, we look back and remember how God blessed in so many ways. The earthquake relief is far from complete, and many more requests are still coming in from areas urgently needing supplies.
Today we received 1,000 tarps from India where we found them for $8.50. In Kathmandu they cost $16-$18 each. We are also preparing another 1,050 food packages to be taken to ares especially hard hit by the second quake. Today we are also sending supplies to Deopur to fix the broken water line. Here the people have to spend up to 4 hours to get water.
In many of the villages, almost all buildings were destroyed including the toilets. This has caused a serious sanitation challenge, increasing the risk of the spread of disease. Reach Nepal is partnering with Help and Care to build 100 permanent public outhouses in the most needy villages in the Sindhupalchok and Kabrhepalanchok districts.

Today we were conducting a health camp near Panchkal when the 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck just east of where we were located. As we looked at the hills around, our hearts sank as we saw again large clouds of dust rising from all the falling houses. Fortunately many of them are empty because they were already damaged, but there were many who were killed and injured. Yesterday we were also conducting a health camp up in the village of Kunta Pauwa, when a storm struck with torrential rain and hail, leaving the roads very treacherous that we had to return on. These experiences have reminded us of the incredible needs that remain. Please continue to support our relief efforts as the country continues to suffer in so many ways. - Video captured thanks to Mark Paden's fast action!
This is the village of #NAMLANGTAR #MELAMCHI #Nepal A beautiful place with great people. The Pathfinders from Banepa conducted a health expo 2 weeks before the earthquake in this villages."When we left the village we had lots of smiley Face but yesterday When we re-visited, the houses were totally on the ground, yet they still had smiles on their face." Abrik
The Team from #ReachNepal along with the Pathfinder volunteers from Banepa travelled 5 hours one way to visit the devastated village and distribute food as well as assess the needs in this remote area. They spent the night in the village and returned the next day. Despite rain, a night in the back of the truck and a very long bumpy road they returned the next day to cheerfully help our volunteer medical team in another village, where we were able to visit about 50 patients and assess the water needs of several surrounding villages. -Johann
We want to thank all our donors and volunteers for their self-sacrifice in helping us provide packages of food to those suffering from the loss of their homes.
There is still a great need for shelter as the rainy season has begun here, there are many families who have nothing to keep them out of the cold and rain, it is our goal with your help to distribute 1,000 tarps.
Friday we visited a village to distribute food packages- though unrelated to the earthquake the villagers were very eager to see the doctors and tell about their aches and pains, it was a blessing to have Dr Kovar and Dr Sandip Sah with us. -Johann
We have been so blessed to have a doctor and a 4th year medical student joining our team while we distribute food throughout the villages. Today we are preparing 300 packages to distribute to two different villages. Here, they have received flat rice only, but are needing much more. We have been blessed that the rain has stopped for the last few days, but as I am writing this, the sky is darkening and I can hear the thunder in the distance. Please pray that the rain will hold off so we can continue to help the people unhindered. Namlaltar, where we are visiting tomorrow, is especially difficult to access when the roads are wet.
What have I done to brighten someone's life today?
Today we went to the place jalbire, sindhupalchowk. People are desperate for food and shelter. They are crying out but no one to listen. Reach Nepal has taken a step to help thousands like them. We need your prayer and support. Please! Donate for Nepal. Every penny is a life to the people here.
"400 packages finished today. It will be enough for 2000 people. These 400 will be given to the villagers of Dadapari at Sindhupalchwok.
A huge thank you to all the donors and volunteers who have been supporting us and helping us through out.
Please continue to pray for us." Mona
"Today we are taking around 300 packages to a village called Falate in Koshipari which is enough for 1500 people.
And here at Banepa we will be making 500 more packages for tomorrow. We have allot of volunteers from Kathmandu, Panauti and Banepa. So I would like to thank each one of you for your hard work." -Mona Bajracharya
