I've never considered myself a soft target, but recovering from total knee replacement is humbling for a go-getter. I've had lots of time to doomscroll on FB and read the stories of victimization happening everywhere.

Do you know someone who is more vulnerable due to their life circumstances? Although I can't get anywhere quickly right now, I can still help out. I have tools I travel with and I can help you find something for yourself or someone you care about.

Recently, while my husband ran inside to pick up my latest prescription, I was mindful of my surroundings, had the doors locked, and I was quietly prepared with my bag of tools. Even when I'm relaxing and rehabbing, I'm still thinking about how I want to help others feel safe.
