Hudson Valley Writers and Authors Group
From Bill Buschel ... | This Friday night, July 19, 2019 is OPEN MIC FRIDAY at Hudson Valley Writers Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY. @ 7:30 - 9:30-ish PM. Sign up starts around 7pm.
Come celebrate the first man to step on the moon plus 50 years minus one day. Actually, it’s sad to say, but I doubt anyone will have a poem, song or memory to commemorate the event.
All genres welcome—fiction, non-fiction, poetry…music, comedy, storytelling, etc.
There is a suggested donation of $5 and a 5 minute limit for your reading.
Our Featured Artist this month is Jim Garber. He’s a poet, musician (check out Old-Time Jam Session and Potluck at Hilltop Hanover Farm on Facebook) and an Open Mic regular.
Friday night we'll also announce the winner of the July Coffee Poems Contest. Remember the winner gets two $5 gift certificates. One from Hudson Valley Writers Center and the other from Coffee Labs Roasters in downtown Tarrytown.

Don’t forget that July is a SATISFYING SUNDAY BRUNCH OPEN MIC Month.
SUNDAY MORNING, July 21, “SATISFYING SUNDAY BRUNCH” OPEN MIC INFORMATION:
Doors open around 9:30am for sign-up. We start at 10. There is no Featured Artist.
One thing we ask is that you bring something to share with your fellow Open Mic’ers. Something “Brunchey”!
As I always say, “Have something to read in one hand and something to share in the other.” But please don’t go overboard with the food. We usually end up with much too much food. With that in mind if you can’t bring something don’t let it stop you from coming. We’ll probably have enough to feed a small monastery.
