Wednesday wisdom: Stop being worried about what people think about you. Have Godfidence. I’ve never been bothered by people who don’t like me or folks that don’t want to be around me. I have Godfidence. This means that I understand that confidence was placed in me by God before He even knit me in my moma’s womb. He knew my extraness would attract some, but annoy others. That’s ok, because nothing can separate me from God’s love. That’s what matters the MOST to me!! Godfidence is not “What if they don’t like me?”. Godfidence instead is “I’ll be fine if they don’t like me because God loves me and that matters more than the opinions of others.”

Monday message: God will make a way. If things in your life, your job, your marriage, or your situation feel hopeless right now; If you feel like you won't make it another day; if you've been waiting patiently for something to happen and it still hasn't, just hold on my friends. Stay faithful. Pray in the difficult times. Revive your confidence in God. Remember Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all the ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. You don't have to understand how or when it will happen, just believe. God will make a way!

Wednesday wisdom: Starting this semester with a class on social media and a thought came to me. The simple, yet difficult task of thinking before we speak, should be applied when posting on social media and in responding to posts. I’ve actually been studying social media for a year, and the results are shocking. Let’s normalize being decent humans by the words that we share. Even if you’re not a Christian, you can display good behavior. The thing that has shocked me the most are the negative posts and comments from people I know that profess to be Christians. My prayer is that we can do better. One day when we stand in judgment before God, we will be held accountable for every idle word. “The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.”-Proverbs 15:28

Tuesday truth: When I was growing up, I never thought of having a career where I got to talk all day, yet here I am today, teaching, which requires talking all day. 🤣🤣 My hyper personality and desire to talk are very useful in understanding students with those same attributes. God always knows what He’s doing! Talkers, I see you and I understand you!! 🙌🏾

Monday message: One of my life verses is proverbs 3: 5, 6. It says, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; acknowledge him and all his ways and he will direct your path. This morning I was doing my Bible reading in Proverbs chapter 4, and I came to verse 12. I read that verse and I read it again and I read it again and then it came to me. This is exactly why we need to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding. That verse tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man, but it is the way to death. This verse is basically telling us our human thinking is going to be flawed. God‘s thinking is so much better than ours, so it’s in our best interest to listen to God. We think we may know the right thing to do, but it could end up causing us physical or spiritual or even emotional harm. So trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. Happy Monday!

Thursday truth: I often say that it matters who you hang around. Turtles eat from the ground, while giraffes eat up high. God created us all to be different and we all have a purpose. You may think you’re a turtle but as you grow spiritually, you may realize that God has called you to be a giraffe. That’s when you will lift you head and begin to “eat” at a higher level than the turtles you’ve been hanging with. It doesn’t mean that you can no longer be friends with the turtles. It simply means that God has called you to a higher place of spiritual truth and spiritual wisdom that all your friends won’t go. Some of the turtles may get jealous. Some may feel resentment. If the turtles applaud your elevation and look to you for truth and wisdom, you know they are still your people. Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”- Proverbs 13:20. Be careful who you hang around. It matters.
