Economic Development Authority may sell relating to parcel 82.04098.00. – (Motion to Close Meeting Pursuant to the MN Government Data Practices Act; Specifically, MN Statute 13D.05,

The University of Minnesota Student Community Band will begin fall rehearsals Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Kiehle Auditorium on the UMN campus. Greater Crookston community musicians of all abilities who play a band instrument are welcome.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will soon begin work on a three-week pavement preservation project on Highway 75 between Crookston and Euclid.

Work will take place under traffic, and a detour will not be required. Motorists, however, should expect lane closures, delays, and turn-lane restrictions. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone, watch for flaggers, and be alert for workers and equipment. The pavement preservation project will help maintain the pavement quality and increase the pavement lifespan.

The project is expected to be completed in mid-September. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

🧑‍🚒 The Crookston Fire Department will be conducting a training exercise on Thursday, August 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 102 N. Broadway.

During this training, residents may notice multiple fire trucks and emergency personnel at the location. You may also see smoke coming from the building. Please be aware that this is part of the planned training exercise and does not indicate an emergency or threat to the public.

The training will focus on advanced firefighting skills, including:
🔥 Advanced search techniques
🔥 Occupant removal (rescue)
🔥 Advancing hose lines in a commercial structure

These realistic training opportunities help our firefighters strengthen their skills and improve their ability to respond effectively to emergencies in our community.

The Crookston Fire Department will be conducting emergency vehicle driver training throughout town on Wednesday, July 15 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Residents may notice fire apparatus traveling throughout town during this time as firefighters complete planned driver training exercises. This training is essential to maintaining the skills needed to safely and effectively respond to emergencies.

The city appreciates your patience and cooperation. If you encounter emergency vehicles during the training, please drive cautiously and follow all traffic laws.

The city thanks the public for their continued support as it works to keep our community safe.

🚲 Important Reminder: No Parking in the New Barrette Street Bike Lane

We've noticed a few vehicles parking on the east side of Barrette Street lately. We get it—this bike lane is a brand-new addition, and parking there used to be the norm.

However, with this new bike lane, blocking this space forces cyclists out into traffic. Please refrain from parking on the east side of Barrette St. Thank you for your cooperation.
