Here's the criteria for You Say It We Play It. In order for us to play a request it must; 1. Not have been aired previously in the morning show. 2. We take requests as they are received - they start coming in early, so even if you call during the YSWPI hour...we may have 10 or 15 songs ahead of you. We can only play approximately 10 to 12 songs during the hour. 3. Cannot be a 'recurring' request. You might love a song...but the other listeners will tire of hearing the same song requested day after day. 4. Generally speaking, a song must fall somewhat within our format of oldies pop/rock songs. However, sometimes we'll play an obscure request just for the fun of it - but even then It needs to have appeared on the Top 100 charts for the era we play music from OR in the same genre. Disco Duck was a fun song at the time and did appear on the charts...but it's not one the majority of listeners would like to hear all the time. We call them "novelty songs". Even though we strive to play the requests...we must maintain our primary format during the hour and not repeat requested songs too frequently. We love that listeners participate in YSWPI every morning. But if you don't hear your request..there is a good reason...and it may be simply that it played earlier in the morning or that there are several requests ahead of yours. We work hard to play your requests and, at the same time, maintain our format integrity for the mass audience. Thank you
