Will it stay clean? Absolutely not.
Will I still feel like I have my life together for approximately 12 minutes? Yes. Yes I will.

There’s just something about having one room picked up that makes me feel like I can conquer motherhood… even if the rest of the house looks like Jurassic Park met the WWE. 🦖🐢

Hey friends 🤍

I honestly wasn’t planning on sharing this on Blessed Mess because I never wanted this page to feel like I was “selling” to you. That’s not why I started it.

But this is part of my motherhood story… and Blessed Mess is about my real life as a mom — so here we are.

When I was pregnant with my first son, something in my brain just flipped. I started reading labels on everything. Cleaning sprays. Laundry detergent. Shampoo. Air fresheners. Things I had used my whole life without a second thought.

And what I learned honestly surprised me.

Kids aren’t just “small adults.”
• Their skin is thinner and absorbs chemicals more easily.
• They breathe faster than we do, so they inhale more of what’s in the air.
• Their detox systems (like the liver) are still developing.
• Pound for pound, they carry a higher chemical load than adults from the same exposure.

Research has linked certain common household ingredients — like phthalates, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, synthetic fragrances, and some harsh surfactants — to things like hormone disruption, asthma triggers, skin irritation, and developmental concerns.

That was enough to make me pause.

But here’s the thing — I was teaching full-time. I had no energy to DIY everything. I didn’t want my house to smell like vinegar. And I still wanted products that actually worked.

That’s when I reached out to a friend who shared the wellness company her family used. They manufacture their own products and follow a strict ingredient policy — no harsh chemicals — across over 400 household items. Cleaning, laundry, toothpaste, hair care, supplements, healthy snacks, skincare… basically the things we’re already buying, just made differently. American made and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

And for our family, it was a game changer.

I am not here to mom shame anyone. We all do the best we can with the information and capacity we have. Truly. 🤍

But if this is something you’ve been curious about — if you’ve ever stood in a store aisle flipping a bottle over wondering what half the ingredients mean — I’d love to share what I’ve learned.

No pressure. Just information and options.

Because if it matters to our babies, it matters to me. 🤍

What would you tell another mom who’s having a hard day?

Something that helps me on hard days is that God promises that the sun will rise tomorrow. You have another chance.

I know this may just look like a table to you.
A small kids’ table sitting in the corner of a dining room.

But to my family? It means so much more.

That little table stays there all the time. It’s not something that gets folded up and brought out “when the kids come over.” It’s permanent. Because in that house, my children are not visitors.

They are woven into the home.

And as a mom, there is something indescribably comforting about knowing your children are loved that intentionally. My boys know when they walk into Mimi and Papaw’s house, they belong there. They are expected. They are loved.

And if you know, you know… that kind of support is priceless.
The kind you don’t have to pack a diaper bag for.

They have bottles and sippy cups in the cabinet.
Snacks in the pantry.
A high chair ready to go.
Diapers, wipes, medicine, pajamas, bath essentials.
A whole playroom that feels like a little boy's dream.

If we’re running late picking them up? The boys are already in pajamas, ready for bed. No guilt. No stress. Just help.

And the popsicles, oh the popsicles… They’re homemade. No bright dyes. No junk. Just love poured into little molds in the freezer. But the boys think they are getting something special and will ALWAYS remember having popsicles at Mimi and Papaw's house.

But what means even more than all of that?
They respect our parenting.
They support our routines.
They back us up.
They don’t override or compete — they partner.

That kind of grandparent is a gift.
It’s not just about convenience. It’s about security. It’s about our boys growing up knowing they are surrounded by safe people who love them deeply and still honor Mom and Dad.

That little table is more than furniture.
It’s a symbol.
Of consistency.
Of intentional love.
Of generational support.
Of “we’ve got you.”

In a world that can feel loud and overwhelming, having a Mimi and Papaw who create a soft place to land for your children is something I will never take for granted. That kind of generational unity builds security in a child’s heart.

And one day, I hope my boys remember that table the way I do — not just as where they ate snacks, but as a place where they always felt at home.

And I will never stop being grateful that they get to grow up surrounded by that kind of love.

This may just look like a table to you.
But to us? We are overwhelmingly thankful for this table.

Blessed really is the only word for it. 🤍

What’s your most-used phrase right now?

I would say mine is "Do you have to p*e?"

Toddler life. He saw the sunshine and said he needed watermelon! Snow in one hand, watermelon in the other 😂

Have a great day!
