NEW PARENTING FEAR UNLOCKED:

A REAL DAD'S STORY

Yesterday started like any other sick day.

Sadye Maye had a low fever - 99 degrees.
As a work-from-home dad, I switched to sick kid mode.

Around lunch, she wanted to lay in my lap.
Normal dad duties, right?

But an hour later...
Everything changed.

She suddenly jumped up,
Panic in her eyes,
"I'm scared! I'm scared!"
Running through the living room,
Then to the back of the house,
Completely disoriented.

I'm alone with her and our dogs,
Trying to make sense of what's happening to my baby girl.

Finally got her outside,
Cooled her down...
That's when I noticed:
Her temperature spiked to 101.

She was having hallucinations,
Vision problems,
Complete disorientation.

Twenty minutes after my wife got home,
It happened again.

Here's the kicker:
This is actually a KNOWN flu symptom in kids.
Something nobody warns you about.

Parents, listen up:
If your child has the flu
And starts acting like they're seeing things,
Don't panic - it can be normal.
But always check with your doctor.

I'm sharing this because
As parents, we need to know these things.
As a Marine, I'm trained for combat.
But as a dad?
Nothing prepares you for moments like these.

MISSION OBJECTIVE: Test daughter's new 100k-volt personal defense equipment
LOCATION: Home Base (Living Room Combat Zone)
PERSONNEL: 1 Over-confident Marine Dad, 1 Concerned Cat (Filo), 1 Recliner (KIA)

PHASE 1: EQUIPMENT CHECK
- Loaded with 2 AAA batteries (Spoiler: Don't let the size fool you)
- Initial test on microwave successful (RIP microwave finish)
- Confidence level: Dangerously high

PHASE 2: TACTICAL ERROR
Your boy here, certified Combat Weapons Instructor, thought: "It's just two tiny batteries. How bad could it be?"

My daughter now wields this weapon with the confidence of a Drill Instructor and the smile of someone who will never let their dad live this down.
