Before you get a surface piercing from just anybody a good way to avoid a nasty scar and give your piercing a chance ask them what type of bar do they use for a surface piercing. If it’s anything but a 90° surface bar run and find yourself another piercer.
NEVER GET A CURVED BARBELL for a surface piercing.

These are also considered long term temporary. That meaning while some people will have them for years and years, others may migrate and reject very early.
