Will participate in an Authors Expo Friday, 11-1, at the Gardendale-Martha Moore Public Library. Several authors will be on hand. Come on out and see some local books!

Had the pleasure of speaking at a meeting of the Cullman Historical Society on Sunday. The folks there were very supportive, generous and encouraging about the book. I enjoyed it very much!

Change of plans: The Cullman Historical Society is not meeting in July, so I will possibly be speaking to the group in August about the book. Will keep you posted.

This sketch of Sacred Heart Church by Cullman's John Sachs is in the book. The original plan for the church called for the steeples to be one-third taller. However, the church, which had deposited $30,000 in Cullman's German Bank, lost the money when the bank closed in 1914 following an embezzlement scandal. The church was completed in 1916, albeit with shorter steeples.

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by at the book signing this weekend at Books-a-Million! I love to watch people's faces light up when they flip through the book and recognize an old building or scene from Cullman. People really do love their town!
