TROPICAL STORM BERTHA UPDATE
Hey everyone—if you’re along the northern Gulf Coast (from the Florida Panhandle through southern Louisiana), here’s the latest on Tropical Storm Bertha as of this morning:

Winds: Sustained at 50 mph (tropical-storm-force winds extend up to 80 miles out).
Track: Moving near or along the northern Gulf Coast over the next few days. Slight strengthening is possible today before it begins to gradually weaken mid-week.
Key Hazards & Warnings
Winds: A Tropical Storm Warning is active from the AL/FL border to the Jefferson/Plaquemines Parish line in LA—expect tropical storm conditions starting late today into Wednesday.
Storm Surge: A Storm Surge Watch is in effect (AL/FL border to the Mouth of the Mississippi River). Inundation could reach 2–4 feet in the hardest-hit coastal spots at high tide.
Rainfall: General totals of 2 to 4 inches (with isolated spots getting up to 6 inches) through Thursday from western FL to southern LA. Flash flooding is possible, especially in low-lying and urban areas.

Bottom Line: If you're in low-lying or coastal areas, keep an eye on your local NWS updates today, clear out any loose outdoor items, and check your supplies just in case. Stay safe, everyone!

The NHC has designated Invest 91L in the Gulf, with confidence in the formation of a Tropical Depression increasing to 40% over the next 7 days. Those along the Florida Gulf Coast, Southern Alabama, and Southern Georgia should remain aware of this system as it is expected to bring heavy rain to portions of the region over the next several days.

Lots of mesoscale discussions for our friends to the north and east today if you know anyone up here let them know they need to be weather aware! There is an area from Washington D.C to New York where EF-2 tornadoes are possible! If I see a change or a storm that needs some attention I’ll post the images and info I have here!
