💜 NEW INTERVIEW | CFISD VOICES: SPEAKING THE FUTURE 💜

I am SO excited to share this interview with the student founders of CFISD Voices, because these young adults truly inspire me. ✨

What Sasha and Camila have accomplished is pretty incredible. They took an idea centered around giving students a voice and turned it into something that brought together students from all 12 CFISD high schools. Think about that—12 different high schools, one stage, and so many different voices, perspectives, passions, and ideas coming together. 🎤💙

But what impressed me most was getting the opportunity to sit down and talk with them. They were incredibly humble, and the conversation was never about recognition for themselves. Their focus was on other students—creating a safe and welcoming space where students feel comfortable using their voices, sharing what matters to them, and knowing that what they have to say matters.

That kind of heart is special. 💜

Their desire to lift others up, their caring hearts, and their willingness to create opportunities for their peers are exactly the kinds of things I love highlighting through Voices of Cypress—and exactly what our community needs more of.

I am so happy to support CFISD Voices and cannot wait to see where these students take this next!

The incredible Julie Hinaman served as the keynote speaker at the 1st .voices speaking the future event. Julie is more than our CFISD school board President she is a champion for ALL students in our district. Such an honor to have such an inspirational leader support this student event.

Meet Anthony! I had the opportunity to talk to him before he took the stage at the 1st ever CFISD Voices Speech Event. He told me he was nervous but he wanted to represent his school Cypress Lakes High School and show others how finding his voices helped give him confidence. He did an incredible job!

What an incredible event! I can’t wait to share the highlights with you these Cypress-Fairbanks ISD high school students are so inspiring. There is so much good happening right here in our Cypress community especially in our schools and today was another example of that. Thank you to our Cypress-Fairbanks ISD staff members Jose Munoz and Darin Crawford as well as our Board President Julie Hinaman for all always investing in our students. They served as judges for the first ever .voices speaking for the future event. I got to spend some time talking to Jose before the event , not only is he dedicated to our district but his wife is also an educator 🫶 The dedication for our district and our Cypress community is obviously and very much appreciated.
