Hey everyone - after five years and a heart full of miles and memories, we've got updates about the future of VanFest.

The short version: as life is shifting around for us, we've come to realize that we can't give VanFest the time it truly deserves right now. So unless the right person or partner comes along to help run it or take it over, we're not planning any future events. That includes Escape to the Cape, which we've made the hard decision to cancel (all tickets will be 100% refunded within the next 14 days or so).

Everything is okay with us, and this is purely about our time and capacity. We'd rather be honest with you now than coast and deliver anything less than our whole heart.

VanFest only ever existed because of this community. The gatherings, the friendships, the builds, the shared love of a life of adventure. Whatever comes next, that has to stay at the center of it.

If keeping VanFest going speaks to you and you want to help, or you know someone who'd be a perfect fit, we'd love to hear from you.

🐶 Tail Wagging Tuesday 🐶

It’s hard to believe that my four legged travel companion is now 9 years old.

It looks like now we are both seniors on the road - except our energy and excitement levels are still through the roof when we travel to new places.

I’m very excited to take Rosie to the northeast this summer. Our travel plans include traveling through 11 states in 3 months. 🤘😳

That’s a lot of states for her to leave her mark and make “deposits” in 💩

Here are some traveling with dog tips:
- Dehydration in dogs can sneak up on you, so carry plenty of water and give them lots of breaks for water
- Carry a physical copy of your dog’s medical records with you.
- Carry a dog specific first aid kit
- Research emergency vets along your travel route
- Before you let the dog out for a walk, check the ground temperature. Put the back of your hand 🤚 on the ground (beaches, concrete, etc) and if it’s too hot 🥵 in 7 seconds then it’s too hot for your dog to walk on it.
- Brings toys & treats, so when you need to run to the grocery store without them they have items to entertain and distract them without tearing up your rig and having separation anxiety 😟
