Education, training, and more education are the foundations of better care and understanding of autism! As a parent of two children on the spectrum, I, like many of you, know that there’s still a significant misunderstanding about Autism Spectrum Disorder and the many factors and differences among those diagnosed.

That’s why my petition is pushing for increased training across all sectors. In a world where most people are likely to encounter someone with autism, no one should be uneducated on this topic.

I’m also advocating for cameras in self-contained classrooms. As a parent of a nonverbal child, I believe cameras are essential for accountability and protection. Laws need to evolve to provide clear protections for autistic individuals. Outbursts due to autism should never lead to handcuffs, mugshots, or criminal records.

We need specialized units trained to respond to autism-related situations with understanding and care.

Please sign and share this petition it’s free and only takes a second. Thanks to your support, we’ve already secured 743 signatures, but we need more! Together, we can make a difference!🦋

The world desperately needs more education and awareness about autism. Far too often, misunderstandings and misinformation lead to unnecessary incidents that harm individuals on the autism spectrum. Two of the biggest misconceptions are that everyone with autism is the same and that they fully understand the world the same way neurotypical individuals do. These harmful myths ignore the unique challenges and strengths of each person on the spectrum.

That’s why I’m pushing for change with my petition. Education about autism needs to be a priority across all sectors of society. With the rising number of children and adults diagnosed, there isn’t a single person who shouldn’t be educated about autism.

This is about more than just awareness it’s about action.
• Laws must protect those whose outbursts are a result of their autism, not punish them with prosecution.
• Crisis intervention teams trained in autism should replace arrests in situations involving individuals on the spectrum.
• Cameras should be installed in self-contained classrooms to ensure safety and accountability, given the unacceptable incidents occurring behind closed doors.

We need enhanced protections for people with autism. It’s time to create a society that supports, protects, and respects individuals on the spectrum one where misunderstanding and mistreatment are no longer tolerated.

Join me in demanding education, action, and change. Together, we can build a more inclusive and informed world for everyone. The petition is free to sign and free to share 🦋

A teacher from an ISD is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a nonverbal, autistic student. Stories like this fuel my determination to push harder for change. As a parent of a nonverbal child, I can’t fathom something of this magnitude happening, but I live in fear of it every day.

This is why cameras in self-contained classrooms should be mandatory. This is why comprehensive training for educators and staff must be required. And this is why we need stronger laws to protect children with autism or individuals with autism from being criminally charged for outbursts related to their condition.

If you have a child on the spectrum, I urge you to sign and share this petition. It’s free and only takes a moment, but it could lead to significant change. Cases of children with autism being harmed or mistreated are far too common let’s take action to ensure their safety and rights.

We cannot force someone to hear a message they are not ready to receive, but we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed. There is still so much misunderstanding and misinformation about autism. As a parent to two children on the spectrum one of whom is non-speaking! I take every opportunity to educate others. Through my petition, I am advocating for critical changes: cameras in self-contained classrooms, comprehensive training across all sectors, and stronger laws to protect individuals with autism.

The petition is free to sign and free to share! Remember, our children today will be adults tomorrow. Any change we strive for today can lead to a better, more inclusive future for them.🦋

Quality of life should never be overlooked whether it’s for today, tomorrow, or the future. Many people focus on the challenges of raising children when they’re small, but what happens as they grow older? This is especially critical for families with children on the autism spectrum.

Autism rates are rising, and yet, essential systems remain unprepared. It’s time for change. I am calling for laws and policies to ensure the safety, dignity, and education of individuals on the spectrum, including:
1. Protections for Outbursts Related to Autism: Understanding and compassion must replace punishment.
2. Cameras in Self-Contained Classrooms: Transparency ensures safety for students and accountability for schools.
3. Mandatory Autism Training Across All Sectors: From educators to first responders, training is critical to support inclusion and understanding.

Every day that passes without these measures is a missed opportunity to protect and support our loved ones. If you have children on the spectrum, this matters to you. Even if you don’t, it still matters because inclusion and equality impact us all.

Please take a moment to sign and share this petition. It’s free, quick, and could make a world of difference for so many.

Together, we can create a better future for all.🦋

Progress, no matter how small, is still progress! As a mother to two incredible children on the spectrum, I’ve learned that progress can look like sitting still for one minute longer than yesterday, trying a new food, or even sleeping just two extra minutes. These small victories remind us that progress doesn’t happen overnight it takes time, patience, and consistency.

I started this petition from nothing, and with your amazing support, we’ve reached an incredible 690 signatures! Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared so far. But we still need more voices!

This petition is about protecting our children—your children, my children. It calls for:
• Cameras in self-contained classrooms.
• Laws that safeguard children with autism.
• Comprehensive training across all sectors.

Change only comes with voices and consistency. Let’s create a better, safer future for our children they won’t stay small forever.

Please sign and share the petition it’s free and only takes a second of your time. Together, we can make a difference!🦋

As the holiday season wraps its warm embrace around us, I want to take a moment to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas. This time of year is a reminder of the true gifts in life love, family, and togetherness.

Christmas isn’t just about the presents under the tree; it’s about the presence of those we hold dear, the memories we create, and the joy we spread. Whether your celebrations are filled with laughter, quiet moments of reflection, or the chaos of children eagerly unwrapping gifts, remember that the beauty of the season lies in the love we share.

To every family here, may your homes be filled with warmth, your hearts with happiness, and your gatherings with the kind of magic only Christmas can bring. Let’s cherish the time we have with loved ones and extend kindness to those who may need it most.

From my family to yours, may this Christmas be one to remember, and may the spirit of joy and peace carry you into the New Year.

With heartfelt wishes 🦋

This reflects everything I feel when I advocate for my children, both of whom are on the spectrum and require different needs and services. I’m sure many of you feel the same way! Standing up for our children is not just something we can do it’s something we must do.

However, simply venting on these platforms about what’s wrong a service not provided, or one provided by untrained individuals is not enough to create real change. It’s important to remember that our children will not remain small forever. A sensory outburst that may be seen as a behavioral challenge in childhood could be criminalized in adulthood.

Recent news has shown heartbreaking examples of children on the spectrum being arrested—a failure of understanding and a lack of proper training. This should not happen! Training and education about autism need to be prioritized across all sectors. There are too many cases for the world to remain uninformed.

Law enforcement, should have specialized crisis intervention units specifically designed for cases involving autism—teams trained to respond with empathy and understanding, without guns and unnecessary arrests.

We also need clear laws to protect our children and transparency within schools. Just as law enforcement is required to wear body cameras, why isn’t this mandatory in self-contained classrooms?

I urge you to sign my petition and be part of the change that is so desperately needed. It’s free, and it takes only a second to sign and share. Together, we can create a safer, more understanding world for our children, who will one day be adults!!!

Yes, it takes not just hours but years for individuals on the autism spectrum to adapt to societal expectations and learn how to manage or apply their behaviors. This effort should be recognized and supported globally! Everyone needs to learn about autism. With the rising number of cases, it’s unacceptable for half the world to remain uneducated about how to understand and meet the needs of autistic individuals.

As a mom to two children on the spectrum, this is deeply personal to me. Our children today will become adults tomorrow, and we must act now to push for meaningful changes in education, how autism cases are handled in the legal system, and who is qualified to respond. We also need increased transparency, such as cameras in self-contained classrooms or in the care of nonverbal, nonspeaking individuals today’s children are tomorrow’s adults.

Please take a moment to share and sign the petition. It’s free, quick, and an opportunity to be part of much-needed change! 🦋
