Join us this morning from 10 AM to 12 PM for Funny Country, 2 hours of clean comedy bits and comical country songs! Today, we feature some legendary comedy radio programs from days gone by along with a mix of funny tunes. First, its Lum and Abner, a popular American radio comedy that aired from 1931 to 1954, created by and starring Chester Lauck and Norris Goff. Based on life in Waters, Arkansas, the show followed the humorous, rural escapades of two shopkeepers, Lum Edwards and Abner Peabody, running the "Jot 'Em Down Store" in the fictional town of Pine Ridge.
Later, it’s Fibber McGee and Molly, a highly popular American radio situation comedy (1935–1959) featuring husband-and-wife team Jim and Marian Jordan. The plot centered on the breezy, tall-tale-telling Fibber and his patient wife, Molly, surrounded by a cast of eccentric neighbors. In hour 2 we feature the classic radio comedy, My Favorite Husband (1948–1951). This popular CBS radio sitcom starred Lucille Ball as the witty, meddling housewife Liz Cooper, with Richard Denning as her banker husband, George. Known as "two people who live together and like it," the show's domestic comedy and sharp dialogue directly inspired the TV series I Love Lucy.

Gold Mine Radio "Artist of The Month" for February 2026 is seven-time Grammy nominated, ten-time GMA Dove Award winning artist Karen Peck and New River, from right down the road in Gainesville, Georgia! Having impacted the Gospel Music industry for over 30 years, Karen Peck & New River has enjoyed over 20 number one hits. In 2018, Karen Peck Gooch was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, and later inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2021. Amid the personal success Karen has enjoyed, New River has been equally blessed with countless honors and accolades, including many radio hits, which have soared up the Southern Gospel Music airplay charts.
