Some of you know, I recently released my first book "Practice Til You Make It: Navigating the Entrepreneurial Journey!"

❤️ OMG! The love and support has been amazing! 😭 I started off posting a play-by-play of the status of the book! You guys were texting me, sending me pictures that you purchased the book!

😯 THEN, I got scared, I got overwhelmed by all the calls the texts, the invitations...so I stopped. I went radio silent, y'all, I froze and pulled back because I was not ready for the outpouring of support!

All this to say, I get scared, overwhelmed, and nervous...I have NOT arrived! I am literally PRACTICING myself! I have to remind myself daily that I got this and God has me!!!! 🙏😭

If you have a goal...GO FOR IT! There is no failure, you either WIN or you LEARN! Your dreams and goals are connected to so many people! I am a living witness that ALL things are possible!

For more than 25 years, Erika Jonhas worked as a Human Resources professional for corporations including Boeing Aerospace, Caterpillar, Marriott, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Sara Lee. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi, and her Master’s degree in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University in Dallas, Texas, and she got her first coaching certification from JFK and the Ford Institute.

Erika was raised “old school”, meaning children are to be seen and not heard. She often found herself in boardrooms with executives, directors and managers, where she sat in complete silence, feeling she didn’t have a voice or anything to offer not realizing she had never confronted or addressed this ingrained belief. She would often be the only female and/or African American in the room. After experiencing what she calls an identity crisis, she realized the foundation of her self-identity was faulty. This crumbling propelled her to rebuild her self-worth and identity into a strong and assertive leader with a voice.

She developed an insatiable desire to tap into her hidden potential and to learn the principles of living a successful, joyous and prosperous life. This led her on a journey through numerous personal development books, programs, workshops, retreats and classes. Her thirst for knowledge and strong desire to help others was the catalyst for her obtaining her first life coach certification as a Certified Integrative Life Coach through the Ford Institute and JFK University. Erika furthered her extensive knowledge of personal and professional development, behavioral assessments, and leadership and communication styles by becoming a certified DISC and Hogan facilitator.

Today, she teaches leaders how to lead, uses her voice to train and guide individuals, organizations, teams and team leaders to optimal performance, desired results, and/or sudden break-throughs. Her extensive client list includes CEOs, actors, project managers, work groups and staff employees, nationally and internationally. Erika enjoys using her unique skills as a Life Coach to yield ideal and achievable results to her clients’ satisfaction.

Real estate is not only a career for Sam Powell but also a lifestyle, threaded throughout her work and play. A broker with Pride Homes Chicago, powered by eXp Realty, Powell has nearly two decades of experience in real estate and the skills to show for it. “You can negotiate a multimillion-dollar deal in shorts, a baseball cap and flip-flops,” she says. “You don’t have to drive a Lexus to be a successful Realtor.” Her tagline — “Real answers, real people, real estate” — speaks to the culture she has created with co-workers and clients serving the LGBTQ community in the city and suburbs. “This is the best career a person who wishes to be themselves 100% of the time can have. Since 2013, Powell has primarily focused on listings; her business partner handles the buyer side and rental clients. Clients feel empowered to work with Powell because she helps them understand that they are in the driver’s seat throughout the buying and selling process. “My role is as an educator, responsible for helping them get super comfortable and confident before the next step,” she says. “That way, when we are there, they jump through the hoops with confidence and clarity.”

Outside of her Real Estate practice, Powell also gives back into the Real Estate Industry. When not in Chicago, Powell can be spotted traveling throughout the country speaking at local and national organizations and events. Powell has spoken for Inman, National & Local Women’s Council of REALTORS®, The National Association of REALTORS®, Illinois REALTORS®, Large and Small Real Estate Companies and Associations across the country. 💚5.6% of U.S. adults experienced a serious mental health condition in 2020, which is often defined as a psychotic disorder, bipolar disorder or a severe anxiety or eating disorder that significantly impairs functioning[2]
💚In 2020, 32.1% of U.S. adults experienced both a mental health condition and substance abuse[3]
💚In 2019, 15.3% of U.S. veterans experienced a mental health condition[4], such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression or substance abuse
💚As of 2020, su***de is the second leading cause of death for U.S. children ages 10 to 14, preceded only by unintentional injury[5]
💚The impact depression and anxiety has on the global economy can be measured in $1 trillion in lost productivity each year[6]
