Walk through the website of almost any DFW business with a chat bubble in the corner, and there is a good chance it starts talking without ever saying it is AI.

That was a design choice in December. As of January 1, it is a violation of Texas HB 149.

This is not a big-company problem. It is a bottom-right-corner-of-your-homepage problem, and it applies whether you built the chatbot yourself or a vendor set it up for you two years ago and nobody has looked at it since.

AI-written phishing emails get clicked 54% of the time. Human-written ones get clicked 12% of the time, according to this week's reporting.

Your chatbot has been breaking Texas law since January.
