I left Facebook a few years ago, but I could not resist sharing this video link on my page. I compiled my favourite pictures of my favorite people from the first 60 years of my life. As I celebrate my big birthday next week, I just wanted to remember, honour and thank everyone who has been a part of my life journey up to now!

A lot of dear friends from over the years are included in this video... but please don't be upset if your photo isn't in it. I had to edit the video whilst travelling in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany... without access to a lot of my old photos back in Texas!

We are the Sandlands. Empty Nesters who have one foot in Texas, another foot in Gloucestershire, and are always planning a trip somewhere! Dara grew up in Illinois, fascinated with England. Ian grew up in California, and spent summers in England. Now we are settled in the Dallas, Texas area. We've been married 28 years and Texans for 27. Our two sons are grown and on their own.

Our favorite thing is sharing things we love with people we love. And because we spend time every year in England, we have given a LOT of travel advice to our friends. We decided to start Magenta Otter Travels - the YouTube channel and social media posts - to share info, advice and ideas about travel, life, and anything else that interests us.

We do have "real jobs" though... we are not a young couple in our 20's exploring the world full-time and vlogging our adventures to make a living. Dara is a 30+ year marketing veteran who has a marketing consultancy. Ian is a 20+ year property manager who is a realtor in the Dallas area.

Dara is obsessed with the color (colour) MAGENTA and OTTERS. Ian is an animal lover in general. Together, we have a special fondness for Otters, Hedgehogs, Puffins, and Lemurs. And cats, of course!

We also love to help others, serve in our community, and basically "go about doing good" (Acts 10:38). That's why our motto is: Do something good in the world each day. #DoSomethingGood
