I strongly condemn the brutal attack on QTV journalist, Ansumana S.O. Nyassi, who was reportedly stabbed multiple times by coward armed robbers at his home. This senseless act of violence is deeply disturbing and unacceptable.
I call on the relevant security authorities, particularly the The Gambia Police Force, to conduct a swift, thorough, and professional investigation to ensure that those responsible are identified, arrested, prosecuted, and held fully accountable under the law. The perpetrators must be brought to book and made to face the full consequences of their criminal actions.
This attack is not only an assault on an individual but also a threat to the safety and security of all citizens. No one should have to live in fear within their own home.
I extend my heartfelt solidarity and best wishes to Ansumana S.O. Nyassi, his family, colleagues at QTV, and all members of the media fraternity during this difficult time. I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.
Let us stand together against violence and support all efforts to ensure justice is served.
