Did you know one of Denton’s most enduring local businesses was started by a 19-year-old Forrestridge resident?

In 1971, Joe Holland opened Denton Bicycle Center with a passion for bicycles and a willingness to learn the business along the way. 56 years later, the family-owned shop is still going strong, now led by Joe’s son, Joe Holland III.

From helping customers find their first bike to repairs, tune-ups, and expert advice, Denton Bicycle Center has become a true Denton institution. In fact, some of the customers who visited in the 1970s are now sending their grandchildren!

We’re proud to have Joe as part of the Forrestridge community and we love celebrating the stories and local businesses that make our neighborhood special.

🐾 Meet Winston! 🐾

This handsome 6-year-old Standard Poodle joined The Drysdale family as a Christmas puppy in 2019 and has been the best gift ever! Winston is full of personality. He can open the back door to let himself in, loves playing hide-and-seek, and once went on a neighborhood adventure before politely scratching at the front door to come home.
