But two years later she’s qualified for her fifth Olympics with her daughter watching.Felix dropped Nike and created her own brand of running shoes, the Saysh One. You know why Butter Pecan Ice Cream is your mama’s favorite, right? Because back in the day, "they" wouldn’t even let us have vanilla ice cream.Vanilla Ice Cream was considered "pure and white” and wasn’t sold to the Black communities. We were only allowed to have vanilla ice cream on July 4th. 😑
And just like that, Butter Pecan Ice Cream became our staple ice cream.
The more you dig into this country’s history, the more it’ll turn your stomach.
They hated us so much, that we couldn’t even eat vanilla ice cream 😬
