Ohhhhhhh, this one was SPECIAL.
Uncle Eddie Eats is back in JERSEY, and after a whole lot of diners, a whole lot of searching, and a whole lot of lemon meringue pies that just didn’t quite create THE MOMENT…
WE FOUND IT AGAIN!!! 😂🍋🥧💥
Back in East Brunswick at what so many of us Jersey people remember as the old Seville Diner — now completely redone, beautifully refurbished and reopened as HighPoint Diner.
New name.
Beautiful new look.
But THANKFULLY…
THE SAME CLASSIC MILE-HIGH LEMON MERINGUE PIE!!! 🙌🍋🥧
And this wasn’t just any Lemon Meringue Pie Moment.
Sitting right there with me was my all-time favorite lemon meringue pie-eating partner…
MY MOM. ❤️
The woman who, by the way, TAUGHT UNCLE EDDIE HOW TO MAKE THE FACES!!! 🤣🤣🤣
So when that beautiful slice hit the table, we knew exactly what had to happen.
Forks up.
Take the bite.
Look at each other.
AND LET THE FACES DO THE TALKING!!! 😂😂😂
And YES…
WE LANDED THE PICTURE!!! 📸💥
Two generations.
Two ridiculous faces.
One legendary piece of lemon meringue pie.
With meringue piled AS HIGH AS THE WAITRESS’S HAIR!!! 🤣🤣🤣
COME ON!!!
THAT is a Jersey diner dessert!
And underneath all the laughs, I was just sitting there feeling incredibly grateful.
After all these years, getting to be back in one of our favorite places, sharing that classic lemon meringue pie with my mom, laughing, making faces and recreating one of those little moments that has always been ours…
THAT’S THE GOOD STUFF. ❤️
