Sometimes the quest for sharp provolone takes you places… even Philly. 😅 My dear buddy Al Santillo had me running all over on a mission, busting chops that the cheese just wasn’t sharp enough.

Well guess what? We didn’t need to go that far at all.
📍 Ferraro’s in Parsippany imports provolone straight from Italy — aged right here in Jersey!

Here’s the magic: when Tony cuts into that 75-pound piece of provolone, you can actually see the butter fat come out. (Yes… I said butter fat 😆). That’s when you know it’s sharp, it’s ready — and my goodness… can you say that’s delicious?

This was hands down the best provolone I’ve ever had. 🧀✨

We made this fun video with Tony and Dana at Ferraro's Italian Food Specialties, sharing laughs, tasting the real deal, and proving once again why Ferraro’s is the essence of a true Italian family deli.

Wednesdays at Ferraro's Italian Food Specialties are a tradition — and this week I finally got to be part of it.

Part 3 of my unforgettable, heartfelt Ferraro’s Wednesday in Parsippany, New Jersey

This was the moment I had been waiting for — sitting down with Tony for his Wednesday ritual: an Italian hotdog and a Manhattan Special. 🌭

But it became so much more than just sharing a sandwich. I had the privilege of spending over three hours with Tony — hearing his family history, the story of Ferraro’s, and everything that makes him who he is, what he stands for, and what he brings to his family.

Tony is the definition of an old-school character — warm, funny, and full of stories. One tip I learned quickly? 👉 Just don’t ever hang up the phone on him! 😂 That little lesson made me appreciate his character even more.

It was an honor, a privilege, and truly the essence of what Uncle Eddie Eats is all about — food, fellowship, history, gratitude, and unforgettable people.

Part 2 of my unforgettable, heartfelt Ferraro’s Wednesday in Parsippany!

This one’s all about Dana — Tony’s daughter and the heartbeat of Ferraro's Italian Food Specialties. For months I’d been saying: “Dana, I gotta have a Wednesday Italian hotdog with your dad and a Manhattan Special.” She was so gracious to respond and invite me up — and it happened. 🙏

Sharing that moment with Dana (and that legendary Italian hotdog 🌭) was over the top. Ferraro’s is the true essence of an Italian family deli in Jersey — history, love, tradition, and flavor all rolled into one. ❤️🇮🇹

Let me tell you something—that’s delicious! 👏 Today’s spotlight is on an epic Roman classic brought to life by Sal & Vito Russo at Riccardo's Italian Restaurant in Browns Mills, NJ. They made this one up special for me, and wow… what a masterpiece. 🙌

🇮🇹 This was no ordinary maritozzo… this was a strawberry maritozzo. 🍓 A sweet, brioche-style bun—pillowy soft, sliced open, filled with rich whipped cream, then topped with strawberry crunchies just like those classic Good Humor ice cream bars we all grew up with, and finished with a dusting of confectioner’s sugar. ❄️🍦🍞

The first bite? My eyes actually bulged out. 👀🤯
The second? Sweet brioche heaven.
The last? Uncle Eddie’s belly sang, and I couldn’t help but say it—That’s delicious!

Huge gratitude to Sal & Vito Russo for keeping the Italian tradition alive at Riccardo’s—and to Charis for making this unforgettable strawberry maritozzo just for me. ❤️

If you’re anywhere near Browns Mills, get in the car, bring your sweet tooth, and grab one of these legendary maritozzi. 🚗💨

When it comes to iconic Jersey breakfast sandwiches, there’s one that reigns supreme — the legendary Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese. And today, I went BIG at the one-and-only Slater’s Deli in Leonardo, NJ.

Ralph & Ralph — father and son — run this family-owned gem, and let me tell you, there’s no inflation here… just pure Jersey love. This beauty was STACKED with the world-famous Trenton Taylor Ham (or is it pork roll? 😉), perfectly cooked eggs, melted cheese, and of course — the holy trinity: SPK (salt, pepper, ketchup)… if you know, you know!

All of it served the only way a true Jersey breakfast should be — nestled in a poppy-seeded hard roll that could make you tear up with pride. 🥯❤️

This sandwich had Uncle Eddie’s eyes maxed out 👀 and his belly saying “That’s delicious!” So grateful to both Ralphs for an incredible Jersey experience — right down Route 36 in Leonardo. 🚗💨 Head down Route 36, grab one, and start your Jersey Shore beach day the iconic way. 🏖️🌊

Another epic Uncle Eddie Eats road trip stop — this time at Riccardo's Italian Restaurant in Browns Mills, NJ. Hidden gem? Oh, absolutely. Treasure? 100%

I’ve got that big-eyed Uncle Eddie stare locked on the slice in front of me — because, let’s be honest, you can’t fake that kind of pizza love.

The Russo family is the real deal. Riccardo’s is in great hands — now in its third generation with Sal, Vito, and Salvatore (a.k.a. “Little Sal”), who is clearly primed to carry on the excellence his grandfather started, his father took to the next level — btw grandfather who’s still in the shop each and every day.

South Jersey keeps proving that the pizza trail down here is absolutely worth getting in the car for. Our buddy David Portnoy - El Presidente really needs to take a trip down and share the Russo family with the entire pizza world 🍕
