It feels like every year we say IT is changing. But 2025 genuinely has a different energy. I’m seeing more conversations about governance (the good kind, not just checklists), real leaps in what GenAI can do, and a push to prove the value IT delivers in ways everyone can see.

A stat that stood out to me, in a recent survey of ITSM leaders, governance topped the list of priorities, followed closely by GenAI and, maybe not surprisingly, people and culture. No more hype—just honest questions about what actually works.

In my latest newsletter, I share some lessons and strategies I’ve seen work.

These days, the biggest threat isn’t change—it’s doing nothing....stagnation is the real risk!

That's why embracing a robust Continual Improvement Model isn't just good practice—it's essential for sustained growth and relevance. I often see organizations struggle to move beyond firefighting mode. The key to breaking that cycle is a structured approach that turns aspirations into actionable progress.

This model, at its core, is about answering seven crucial questions in a loop:

1) What's the vision? (Aligning on purpose)
2) Where are we now? (Honest assessment)
3) Where do we want to be? (Setting clear targets)
4) How do we get there? (Strategizing the path)
5) Take action. (Ex*****on is everything)
6) Did we get there? (Measuring impact)
7) How do we keep the momentum going? (Sustaining success)

It's a powerful framework that empowers teams to identify opportunities, implement changes, measure results, and embed improvements, ensuring that every effort contributes to long-term value.
