If you're looking for a reason to leave the house this weekend, here are five shows happening across DFW that are worth your time. We keep this list focused on local and regional Texas artists — the kind of shows that keep the scene moving.

**1. Faded Blue** at Guitars & Growlers — Flower Mound — Saturday, July 25. Show at 7:00 PM. Free admission.
Three sets: original music from their latest releases and new tunes (7–8), a full hour of blues covering Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, and Stevie Ray Vaughan (8–9), and an open mix to close out the night (9–10). **2. Daniel Markham (with Adam Faucett)** at Dan's Silverleaf (Denton) — Saturday, July 25. Doors at 8:00 PM.
Daniel Markham is a Denton staple. If you haven't seen him play in his hometown, you're missing a piece of the local indie rock fabric.

**3. Not Milk, Junk Car Girls, Holloway, and Sonia Is Dead** at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios (Denton) — Sunday, July 26. Doors at 7:00 PM.
A genuinely solid local bill in the Rubber Room. Denton's Junk Car Girls and Dallas songwriter Kirk Holloway anchor a lineup that shows off how broad the DFW sound actually is right now.

**4. Rockin' the Summer Music Festival** at Underdog Restaurant & Sports Club (Dallas) — Saturday July 25 & Sunday July 26. Doors at 1:00 PM both days.
Two days of all-original Texas rock. American Jetset headlines Saturday. Sunday brings Sonic Volt, Arsenic Kitchen, Texas Dan, and more. One ticket covers both days. All ages.

**5. School of Rock AllStars** at Tulips FTW (Fort Worth) — Saturday, July 25. Show at 12:30 PM.
Something different for a Saturday afternoon. If you want to see the next generation of Fort Worth musicians before they start their own bands, this is where they are.

Week 2 of our Pilot Update: Reactions have been great so far! We have three artists with music uploaded now. I need 5-10 more to sign up and upload music so we can really start testing our streaming function and get initial reactions from some of our test listeners.
What we've acomplished so far:
- Test artist onboarding - still need to test our group creation and group features
- Test music upload workflow - still need to test our album workflow
Our goals for the next few weeks are:
- Test streaming and radio mix logic
- Refine our discovery and search UI
- Continue to refine our UI for artists
- album workflow
- group creation and management

Quick build update from the radiusFM team this week.
The last couple of weeks were heavy on infrastructure — the kind of work that doesn't make for a great demo but makes everything else possible.
We shipped a full ticketing system. General admission, reserved sections, tables, theatre-style layouts — venues can now configure their floor plan per event. That matters because no two rooms are the same, and a ticketing tool that forces every venue into the same template isn't actually useful.
We also added a casting layer. Artists, venues, and community members will be able to host microcasts — short-form, location-relevant audio. Think of it as the local radio station that never existed for your neighborhood. That feature is gated right now while we get the first participants set up, but it's in the build.
On the promoter side — we mentioned this role a few weeks back. It's now further along. Promoters can create events on behalf of venues, manage lineups with stage selection and changeover settings, and build out their rosters. The event discovery piece is also tighter — venues and promoters can now find and respond to events that are actively seeking participants. That workflow is starting to feel like something real. - Looking for a promoter or venue to test this out.
And we consolidated the listener experience into one dashboard — saved songs, followed artists, playlists — available across all account types.
Still a lot of work ahead. But the bones are solid.

It's easy to stay home on a weekend. I've done it more times than I care to admit. But if you're looking for a reason to leave the house and hear some actual local music, here are three Texas-grown shows happening in Denton and Fort Worth this weekend that are worth your time.
1. Paper Jam, Touch Girl Apple Blossom, Palefire, and Covergirls at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios (Denton) — Saturday, July 18. Doors at 7:30 PM.
If you want to see what the Denton indie scene looks like right now, this is the room to be in. Paper Jam is celebrating a record release, and the lineup is solid top to bottom.
2. Wet Dip, Flesh Narc, Seth Sherman, and Climate at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios (Denton) — Sunday, July 19. Doors at 7:00 PM.
For something louder and weirder. Austin's Wet Dip brings bilingual no-wave, and Denton's Flesh Narc brings the noise rock. A genuinely interesting Sunday night bill.
3. Yellowbelly, Spun, Drug of Choice, and Esther at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios (Denton) — Sunday, July 19. Doors at 7:00 PM.
Four Texas bands across Dallas, Denton, Plano, and Arlington sharing a stage. This is the local scene doing what it does.

Found out today, that my max file size for song uploads was really small. I've been wondering why most artist weren't uploading anything, but someone finally told me. Upload max file size is fixed and should be plenty for high quality audio.

Something worth sharing from this week.
We were approached by Scott Puckett, founder of fansetlist.com — an app that lets the audience vote on a band's set-list before a show and choose the encore songs during the live performance. He reached out because he loved what we're building and wanted to talk about the radiusFM journey.
What struck us most was this: our apps don't compete. They solve different parts of the same problem. radiusFM connects listeners to local artists and gets them to the show. FanSetList changes what happens when they're there — putting the audience in the room in a new way.
This is the local first digital/IRL hybrid scene we've envisioned from the start coalescing organically in an unexpected and exciting fashion. - Had to dig deep into my thesaurus to put that sentence together, whew.
We're early in understanding where this leads, but we're paying attention. The DFW music community deserves tools built specifically for it, and it's encouraging to find others who think the same way.

My goal this week is onboard 5 independent artists in DFW or Denton to try out a few specific things on radiusFM.

Here's what's live right now that we'd love real feedback on:

Upload your music. Songs, albums, EPs, singles — all in one place with drag-and-drop organization. Takes about five minutes to get your catalog set up. Once your songs are approved, you can publish to radio where local listeners can discover you. This will also help us test our radio features.

Build your network. Discover other artists and groups around you through the radio streams. Follow other artists and venues. The activity feed shows you what's happening across your network in real time.

Get discovered by groups looking for members. The app now matches artists to groups seeking players by instrument or skill. If you're open to collaborating or looking for a band, this puts you in front of the right people. - your listing stays persistent and is easily discoverable by those looking. No more buried posts!

Not looking for a hundred signups — just three to five artists who'll actually poke around and tell us what's broken, confusing, or missing.
