Keith Sapsford was a 14 year old boy who stowed away on a flight to Japan. When the wheel flaps opened, Sapsford fell to his death. Photographer John Gilpin unknowingly caught the tragedy on camera. The story of his famous image of Sapsford falling from the plane is told here.
