Anthropic claims Claude Sonnet 4.5 can code for 30 hours straight

Anthropic unveiled Claude Sonnet 4.5 on Monday, positioning the artificial intelligence model as a breakthrough in autonomous coding capability that can work uninterrupted for over 30 hours-more than four times longer than its predecessor.

The San Francisco-based Al company, backed by Amazon and valued at $183 billion, claims the new model represents "the best coding model in the world" based on performance across industry benchmarks. Claude Sonnet 4.5 achieved a score of 77.2% on SWE-Bench Verified, a rigorous software engineering evaluation that tests Al models on real-world programming challenges.
