Happy Birthday Colonel Selig! On March 14 in 1864 Selig Polyscope founder William Nicholas Selig was born to Joseph Franz and Antonia Selig in Chicago, Ill. This morning, the Library of Congress announced the 2025 additions to the National Film Registry—and we’re thrilled to share that Selig Polyscope’s THE TRAMP AND THE DOG (1896) has been officially selected.
