August 25, 1911. Exactly 115 years ago today.

The Exhibitors League of Illinois came to see how the movies were really made, and Col. Selig lined them up out front of the plant in North Center for this shot.

These aren't just fans. These are the guys who owned the nickelodeons, booked the reels, and put audiences in seats across the Midwest. If you wanted to get your film seen in 1911, you needed every man in this photo.

This is Chicago before Hollywood.
