Apparently the 15 year old Frisco stabbing victim has no idea who the assailant is, and was randomly approached and attacked. The stabber is still at large. Yikes. From CBS News reporting:

"He approached me, he was like, 'Hey, I think he looked familiar,' and I was like, 'Oh, really.' He was like, 'What's your name?' And I said my name, Ankur, and then he said he went to Lone Star."

He said he was only two houses away from his home, as seen on a neighbor's security camera, when that stranger approached him again with a knife.

Dahr said the stranger randomly turned and "started running at me and he stabbed me with a knife and then he just ran off."

Collin County Jury Has Sentenced Murderer to 50 Years for Brutally Killing His Mother

A Collin County jury handed down a 50-year prison sentence to 34-year-old Robert Lee Timmons Jr., who confessed to the savage beating and strangulation of his own mother, Rene Timmons.

Plano police found Rene’s body on May 16, 2024, during a welfare check after she didn’t show up for work. She was wrapped in a blanket, showing clear signs of a violent attack.

Just miles away, Richardson police were responding to a break-in when they encountered Timmons. His chilling words: “I just killed my mother.” Officers quickly connected the cases and arrested him.

During questioning, Timmons admitted he struck his mother with a metal pipe and a piece of wood before strangling her. His words showed zero remorse: “I know I am an evil person… it looks like I don’t regret what I did, but I’m too high to cry.”

Investigators learned that Rene had been pushing her son to move out because of his drug use, violence, and refusal to work. Timmons, a heavy m**h user with prior assault arrests, even fabricated abuse allegations against his mother the day before the murder.

Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis called it “a horrific act of violence against the very person who gave him life,” pointing to m**h as a destructive force that fueled Timmons’ brutality.

House Fire Yesterday - Thank You To Little Elm Fire Dept and Frisco Fire Dept for the Assistance!

At approximately 2:10pm yesterday, the Little Elm Fire Department was dispatched to Point Street, Little Elm. On arrival, firefighters found three structures burning. The primary residence was fully engulfed, with the homes on either side sustaining partial fire involvement.

A total of 59 people worked the scene, with mutual aid provided by other nearby cities, including Frisco. The fire was brought under control after about two hours.

Everyone made it out of the homes safely, with only one individual sustaining minor injuries. Firefighters remained on site as the area continued to smolder.

Thanks to the Little Elm fire department, and Frisco for the added support!

Frisco Teens' ding-dong-ditch leads to Gunfire and Arrest:

A late-night doorbell prank in a Frisco neighborhood escalated into gunfire last month, leaving three teens’ car hit with bullet holes and a homeowner facing felony charges.

Police said 58-year-old Damon Wolfe was arrested after he allegedly opened fire on a vehicle carrying teens who admitted to playing “ding-dong-ditch” on July 28 in the 6500 block of Scottsdale Way.

Investigators said Wolfe told officers he heard a loud bang on his front door, believed someone was trying to break in, and ran outside with a gun. He then fired multiple rounds at a passing car.

Later that same night, police located the three teens whose vehicle showed three bullet holes. They admitted to ringing random doorbells in the neighborhood as a prank when a man with a firearm fired at their car as they drove away.

No one was injured, but Wolfe was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Frisco Police Chief David Shilson warned that both the prank and Wolfe’s response could have ended in tragedy.

Frisco classrooms getting the 10 Commandments and a dose of controversy:

Starting this school year, a new state law will require every public school classroom to display the Protestant version of the Ten Commandments. Senate Bill 10 says each poster must be at least 16x20 inches and big enough to read from anywhere in the room. If a school is offered a compliant poster and doesn’t already have one, they have to take it and put it up.

The law officially kicks in Sept. 1, 2025, but Frisco ISD didn’t wait. They’ve already installed 4,805 posters across 77 campuses — costing $1,800 — and say no other religious texts will go up unless they’re tied directly to state curriculum.

Last month, an advocate of Karmelo Anthony (who was indicted for murder of Austin Metcalf in Frisco), Dominique Alexander, was joined by a coalition of other religious leaders and parents who sued over the law, saying it teaches that "'slavery is acceptable'".

The ACLU and the Freedom From Religion Foundation have also sued, arguing this law violates the separation of church and state. Supporters say the displays promote timeless moral values. Opponents say they erase religious neutrality in public education. A nearly identical law in Louisiana was struck down last year, but Texas is bracing for its own legal showdown, with the attorney general promising to back school districts in court.

Frisco Surgeon In Gaza:
WFAA has posted an interesting article about a Frisco spine surgeon doing a mission trip to Gaza (his third). It says much of the injuries they're seeing are from people trying to get things like food and water. His quote: "Most of the injuries we are seeing are patients that have gone to aid distribution sites and have suffered gunshot wounds or are being run over by trucks."
