Its publications include a sister weekly, Midlothian Mirror, along with Destination Ellis County, Ellis County Business Journal, Varsity Sport & Spirit and The Ellis County Trading Post. The Daily Light and Midlothian Mirror are the official newspaper for the Cities of Waxahachie, Midlothian, Ovilla,

Maypearl, Italy and Venus, as well as for Waxahachie, Red Oak, Midlothian, Maypearl and Italy ISDs. RULES OF CONDUCT:
- Avoid profanity and lewd or degrading language (As well as any language that is intentionally malicious, libelous or offensive to others) and images.
- Don’t lie.
- Don't post political ads.
- Threats of harming anyone will not be tolerated in any way.
- Treat others like you would want to be treated.
- We would love to hear eyewitness accounts, the history behind an article.
- Keep discussions going, but keep them healthy. Consequences: Comments breaking any of these rules will be deleted or hidden, and are judged on a case by case basis. Repeat offenders may be banned. NOTE: Comments may also be pulled for publication. Letters to the editor are not endorsements. Staff columns are not endorsements of the entire newsroom.

The Daily Light and Midlothian Mirror are the official newspaper for the Cities of Waxahachie, Midlothian, Ovilla, Maypearl, Italy and Venus, as well as for Waxahachie, Red Oak, Midlothian, Maypearl and Italy ISDs.

Though owned by GateHouse Media, the Waxahachie Daily Light and Midlothian Mirror are ran — in entirety — by local individuals: from the daily content, accounting, advertising and beyond.
