Optimus is Tesla's humanoid robot.

Tesla's cars can now steer around a crash even when you are driving.

Tesla is adding a major new safety layer to FSD V14.3.9.

It is called Automatic Collision Evasion.

It can switch on Full Self-Driving while you drive your Model Y manually.

If the car sees a frontal crash coming and braking alone may not be enough, it acts.

It steers around the obstacle while braking or speeding up as needed.

Then it keeps driving.

On highways it works under 85 miles per hour and only when no pedestrians are in the way.

The car may change lanes or use the shoulder.

It can also step in if the driver is not paying attention.

Tesla says the driver stays responsible at all times.

The fleet keeps expanding in Austin.

That is where Tesla runs its public robotaxi service.
