Have you scheduled your yearly mammogram?

09/14/2022

Was it really as easy as 1-2-3?

No, of course not! It went something like this...

1. Read the fine print and then read it again. Call and/or email if you don't understand something. I did both.

2. Keep ALL your receipts. Seriously. They asked for e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. Hotels, Uber rides, medical visits, airfare, doctor's note, test results, etc. Literally everything. For reference, this was the 3 month trip I took to 5 countries. So imagine the paperwork 🥲

3. After I filed the claim (trip interruption), I didn't hear anything. I followed up and got a reply a few months later. My claim was "processing" or in "review" for nearly 8 months.

4. But then that check came! Okay!! And I made this reel 😂😂😂

Pro tip: If you are a frequent traveler like me, it might be worth buying yearly coverage. Pay once upfront and forget it until you need it. Hopefully you won't need it, but when you do...

July 21st 2014

To date, this remains one of my worst travel experiences. It was cheap cheap cheap to fly with China Southern, but it definitely was not worth the multiple headaches.

I legit think this is why I won't give low-cost airlines a chance. This was way back in 2014, and I can remember the turmoil vividly 😂😮‍💨.

Has anyone had consistently good experiences with low cost airlines, domestic and international? Like frfr??

This about sums up my experience with . 2 days, 5 airports in 5 different countries. A voucher for €2.50 to use at Amsterdam airport and ¥200 on the way out of the country. Thanks for nothing.

Medellín 💜
My other home away from home. I'm always sure to hit up the Big Three when I go back to Colombia: Cali, Medellin and Bogota. This trip officially started and ended in Cali, but it was a touch down, wheels up situation in the beginning, so we'll circle back around later.
And now...Medellin
💜 Sabaneta
💜 El Centro
💜 Comuna 13
💜 El Peñol

It took me way back
Back down memory lane...🎶
Nearly 3 months on the road. I recorded the podcast, explored countries I'd never visited before, met amazing people and reconnected with friends I hadn't seen since COVID.
It was an unforgettable trip with its fair share of ups and downs, tons of COVID tests (I worked it out and was on average taking 1 PCR every week) 😲 and then finally getting the dreaded positive result. One week before my flight back to the States. 🤦🏾‍♀️
This is my journey 💜

Back down memory lane 🎶🎶
Alright y'all, you're coming with me. I'm taking it back to my most recent "big trip". Colombia - Paraguay- Argentina - Uruguay - Brazil. And then back to Colombia via Paraguay 😂
It was a crazy fun (and hectic) trip and so so so much happened in those 3 months. I started out with a companion, dumped his @$$ and continued on my own. It was also my first time "outside" after the panini. I got COVID and errrthang 😷 all while navigating recently opened international borders.

Looking back now, I don't know how I did it. But even in those most hectic moments, I was like "Remember who you arrreee" a la Blank Panther ✊🏾

When I say it was one to remember...believe me.

Well dang it, I think it's time to share what went down. I met some incredible people along the way and made unforgettable memories.
