James Beard Foundation Honors Café Momentum Founder Chad Houser; story by Eve Hill-Agnus / Edible Dallas Fort Worth

"In April, the renowned James Beard Foundation’s Achievement Awards committee announced Chad Houser, Founder of Café Momentum, as the 2025 Humanitarian of The Year.

The award is given to 'an individual or organization working in the realm of food who has given selflessly and worked tirelessly to better the lives of others and society at large.' It is intended to reward those 'making a profound impact on the food system through advocacy, sustainability and community driven initiatives' and to celebrate those who use 'food as a force for good' by addressing vital subjects within the larger food sphere."

Edible DFW

edible Dallas & Fort Worth is a locally owned quarterly magazine that celebrates local food, community, and sustainability — season by season. We tell the stories of family farmers, wine makers, brewers, food artisans, chefs and other food-connected individuals dedicated to sharing access to high-quality, local seasonal foods and ingredients.

Our mission is to transform the way North Texans eat and live. In order to strengthen our local food economy and support a sustainable food system, we connect you to local growers, producers and makers with our beautiful stories, on our digital platforms, and at community events. www.edibledfw.com
