Just as watchable today as it was when first released in 1953, H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds is considered one of the best science fiction films of all time. With ground-breaking special effects (which won an Academy Award), and in glorious three-strip Technicolor, this movie stunned audiences worldwide.
This British quad with vibrant, colorful artwork is one of the best posters created for this epic, and Heritage is very proud to offer this extremely rare poster for the very first time. Showing the prominently displayed Martian warship destroying Los Angeles must have shocked and intrigued British audiences when it went on display. By most reports, surviving examples of this quad could likely be counted on two hands, and it holds the distinction of being one of the most sought-after British film posters ever produced.

Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, and James Stewart are superbly illustrated from the equally fantastic film on this terrific piece. Before filming, this now-classic story by Philip Barry unfolded on a Broadway stage in 1939 and starred Hepburn. Howard Hughes purchased the rights and gave them to Hepburn as a gift. Both Hepburn and Stewart were nominated for Oscars for their performances, of which Stewart won. The film was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director, ultimately serving as the perfect Hollywood comeback vehicle for Hepburn after a public decline in her career.

An incredible, one-of-a-kind document from the Fab Four’s first US tour, signed by all four on top of the first page in blue ballpoint ink. Originally, three programs were gifted to the original owner, Ray Lussa, the owner of Ray Del Publications - the company that produced the U.S. tour programs. The program in this lot is one of those three and inscribed to Lussa’s daughter, Susan.
As incredible as it was to get a signed program by all four members, Lussa’s daughter was not excited when she was shown what her father had. She told him to hold onto the programs, as she and her friends were fans of the bad boys in the Rolling Stones, not the clean-cut, smiling Beatles.

An original red, white & blue cardboard window card advertising future world-changer Elvis Presley playing a C&W show in the middle of his Sun Records era before he'd ever appeared on a Billboard magazine chart... rock, country or otherwise. The date was May 9, 1955, and this was during the three-week Hank Snow tour documented in this year's major motion picture 'Elvis'.
