Growing up, I thought music was the pathway. I grew up looking at the people who seemed to be living lavishly, traveling, creating, and enjoying the kind of life I wanted and most of the people I saw who looked like me were in entertainment.
It wasn’t until I looked beyond where I grew up and where I’m from that I realized there are so many pathways to what people call success. And now, doing the work I do every day, I can honestly say it’s fulfilling.
Because for a long time, I thought I had to be famous to give back. I thought I had to have a platform for my life to make a difference in someone else’s.
Now I realize I can make a difference right where I am. 😌
Honestly, the goal was never fame. It’s all on purpose. 💜
