Americans deserve elected representatives who pledge unwavering loyalty to the United States and its Constitution, not to foreign nations or ideologies. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s repeated controversial statements and apparent prioritization of foreign interests have raised serious concerns among millions of citizens. Allowing naturalized citizens from countries with conflicting values to hold high office risks undermining our national sovereignty and the integrity of our government.
The presence of members with divided allegiances creates unnecessary vulnerabilities in our legislative process. Our Founders envisioned a republic governed by those deeply rooted in American traditions and committed exclusively to the welfare of its people. When representatives bring imported grievances and foreign sympathies into Congress, it erodes trust and places American citizens at a disadvantage in their own country.
It is time to pass clear legislation ensuring that only natural-born American citizens can serve in Congress. This common-sense reform would restore confidence in our institutions and guarantee that every lawmaker places America and its citizens first. Our republic was built by Americans for Americans, and safeguarding that principle is essential to preserving our sovereignty and way of life.
