✨Back in my old stomping grounds✨

I had an absolute blast heading back to my alma mater, Bowling Green State University, for homecoming. 🧡🤎

Walking through campus and down Main Street hit me with all the feels. I found myself wandering through the Student Union like it was 2008 again, then (totally by accident) stumbled into Uptown Downtown, the spot where we turned ALL the way up back in the day. 🔥😂

Of course, I pulled up to the homecoming football game with the Black Alumni Council. Now listen, I’m not the biggest football fan, but when the crowd yelled, I yelled too! 👏🏾😂

Washington D.C. had me living my best Scandal life…

On the way there, I swore it was my first time in D.C.—then it hit me, this was actually my 4th visit! 👀 Once as a little kid for a family reunion, then for former President Obama’s inauguration my freshman year of college, and again sophomore year of college for Howard University’s Homecoming (shoutout to my university for covering that trip 🥳).

Turns out I’ve been here before, but this was the first time I really got to explore the city for myself.

And let me tell you… I had a BLAST. From geeking out at the Smithsonian science museum (yes, I touched ALL the buttons 😂), to strolling past the White House and speaking with secret service, standing in front of the U.S. Capitol, walking the National Mall, and looking up at the Washington Monument—every moment was a whole vibe.

We dove into history at the National Museum of African American History & Culture, visited Arlington National Cemetery, and viewing the MLK Memorial.

But don’t worry—it wasn’t all history. There was plenty of food (travel calories don’t count 😋), some shopping therapy 🛍️, and lots of family laughs along the way.

This sunset boat cruise in Cape Town was everything. 🧡⛵

Golden hour on the water, Table Mountain in the distance… it was peaceful, calming, and honestly one of my favorite moments in South Africa.

I’ve been sharing pieces of my Cape Town trip, and this one felt extra special. It reminded me why I love travel — for these quiet, beautiful moments that just hit different.

🦁✨ "Can you feel the love tonight?" Because my inner child sure did — and still is! 🎶

Swipe through 👉🏾 to join me on a magical night that brought back ALL the feels — from goosebumps to full-on happy tears. I recently watched The Lion King Musical again in Dallas, and let me tell you… it was majestic. The colors, the costumes, the iconic music — it’s pure theatrical perfection.

This wasn't just another night at the theater. It was a full-circle moment for me. 🎭 In high school, I attended a performing arts school where our chorus was selected to sing background for a special Lion King showcase. Not only did we get to perform, but we also scored FREE tickets to see the full production back then!

So seeing it again as an adult? 💫 Let’s just say my inner Simba was dancing down the aisles, and I was definitely singing every word to "Circle of Life" like Rafiki was watching.
