Story time about my first 🌪️ scare in Texas! 😳

So this past Sunday night I’m chilling, logged in at work, headset on, ready to service clients like the professional hun I am… then out of nowhere I hear loud sirens then my phone starts buzzing nonstop. He banna!! I look down – EMERGENCY ALERT! 😭

Now listen, I have astraphobia (yes, that’s a real thing… a whole fear of lightning), and there I am, sitting right by the window with wired headsets on while thunder is doing the most and sirens are wailing like we’re in a scene from The Day After Tomorrow. I sat there frozen. Silent. Scared. 😂

I froze. Silent. Shook. I even stopped breathing for a second, just in case the tornado could hear me 😂

At that point I screenshot the alert to ask ChatGPT since im super confused and starting to feel anxious.

For a whole hour, I sat there with my soul halfway to heaven. Thank God not even one client called during that time because shame, I wouldn’t have made sense. All I kept thinking was to question my decision to move here. I LOVE where I live. It’s peaceful and gorgeous but the tornados aren’t fun.

Honestly though, Texas needs to come with an orientation for out of state movers. At least teach us what these sirens mean, what to do when they go off, and how not to die from sheer panic. Just a little ‘welcome to Texas’ weather briefing. Is that too much to ask? 😩

This soft life must come with safety instructions, please and thanks 🫥
