I am truly honored to be recognized among the 2026 Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor Class by my hometown school district, Terrell ISD. I have been blessed to receive quite a few awards throughout my lifetime, but there is something especially meaningful about being recognized by the community that raised me.

Honestly, there are more people to thank than I could ever name because so many have helped shape the person I am today.

To the members of my church who nurtured my leadership from an early age by giving me opportunities to speak, sing in the youth choir, serve on the usher board and teach children’s Sunday school; to the teachers who recognized my academic abilities and placed me in gifted and talented classes beginning in elementary school; to the people throughout the community who gave me jobs, scholarships, recommendations and other opportunities; and to the friends who have stood beside me as we collectively pursued our goals, thank you.

And, of course, to the family I love so dearly: my husband, daughter, mom, grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, family-in-love, and all others connected to me by blood, love, or relationship; you have each played a significant part in my life and I am forever grateful. I appreciate your love, your sacrifices, your support, and most of all, your prayers. I would not be who I am without the village that poured into me, believed in me and helped me become the woman I am today.

This award is for all of us.

I joined our Atlanta team to lead experiential marketing, speaker management, event activation and event design for one of our major corporate clients. As an added bonus, I landed just in time to hear the incomparable Serena Williams Serena Williams speak, and she was every bit as dynamic and inspiring as expected!

Another city, another successful activation and another example of the KTA Way in action.
