One of my favorite passages in scripture has always been 2 Chronicles 7:14. There is so much depth in these words, and the Lord has used this passage to strengthen me in different seasons of my walk with Him.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
I think sometimes we get so busy with life — even busy with ministry — that we forget the source of it all. There is nothing wrong with seeking the hand of the Father. He is a good Father, and His Word reminds us that He cares for His children. But there are moments when we need to slow down and stop focusing so much on what God can do for us, and simply seek His face.
And I can tell you from experience: when I sit with the Father, I never walk away the same way I came in.
There is something powerful about being still in His presence. No performance. No trying to impress anyone. Just time with Him.
Today, whether you are walking through a valley or standing on a mountaintop, I encourage you to set aside time to simply be with the Lord. Put on worship music if it helps. Open your Bible. Sit in silence. Pray honestly. Whatever helps you focus on Him — do it.
His presence changes people.
His presence heals people.
His presence restores people.
God does not just want servants working for Him; He desires children who want to be with Him.
Take time today to seek His face, not just His hand.
