Galatians 1:6-7 ESV
[6] I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— [7] not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

I've heard and seen social media posts joking lately about how, if Paul were alive today, we would be getting a letter. But what troubles me is that his letters to the Church from centuries ago are still relevant today.

I want to be very clear: I love the Church. I will never be anti-Church. I just want the Church to operate in its full potential.

I heard a study that only 51% of churchgoers know what the Great Commission is.

Matthew 28:19 ESV
[19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

If we are not making disciples for the Kingdom, then why do we even exist as a Church?

This isn't to say we aren't making disciples at all. I see the fruit often in the Church. But I'm afraid somewhere along the way we've chosen comfort over sacrifice. We've chosen coddling over correction. Church, we may have lost our first love.

I hate this term, but I have trouble arguing against it. There's a term being used right now worldwide: "unsaved Christian."

So where do we go from here?

I think revival, conferences, and worship nights are all great. But I think as a Church body, regardless of denomination, we need to repent.

Which means to turn around and go back in the right direction.

I don't know when Jesus is coming back, but I know it's closer today than it was yesterday.

So believers, hear my heart: let's be the Bride of Christ and prepare for His reunion.

2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV
[14] if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

It’s Still You

Father, through all the hard times, it’s still You.

Father, through the breaking and the stretching, it’s still You.

Father, after all the times I’ve messed up and felt so unworthy, it’s still You.

When I walk down that long dirt road feeling like a worthless prodigal son, it’s still You standing on the porch, waiting for me.

Even after I’ve put people, things, and everything else above You, You have loved me unconditionally.

It’s still You.

You’ve brought me this far, and only You can bring me forward.

When I don’t understand the season, it’s still You.

When I’m tired of being stretched, it’s still You.

When I’ve fallen short, it’s still You.

When I feel like I’ve wandered too far to come home, it’s still You standing there with open arms.

The circumstances may change. People may change. I may change.

But You remain.

So Father, through every valley, every breaking, every stretching, every failure and every victory—

it’s still You.

And if You brought me this far, I know You’re not finished with me yet.

It’s still You.

Good Monday morning, friends!

It’s a new week, and I wanted to encourage you with something the Lord has really been dealing with me about: ABIDE.

Abiding is deeper than simply sitting idle, waiting for the clouds to part, or waiting for every step to be revealed before we take another one. Sometimes abiding does look like waiting and being patient, but I believe abiding in the Lord means staying in tune with His Holy Spirit and refusing to make a step, a decision, or a reaction that takes us outside of His leading.

I struggle with this sometimes. I want to know the plan. I want to control the outcome. I want to make sure I’m making the right move. But the Lord keeps reminding me that I don’t have to figure everything out—I just have to abide.

And when I stumble or get off the path, our Father is patient with me. He doesn’t hold my failures over my head. He simply reaches out His hand and invites me back onto the path.

So this week, my encouragement to you is simple: ABIDE.

Let Him abide in you, and as you remain in Him, experience the peace, guidance, and overwhelming presence that comes from abiding in Him.

Faith Isn’t Always Pretty

If you've spent any time in the Holy Word, you can find story after story of victory and triumph. But before the testimony, there was the test.

Job lost everything. Jesus had to give His life. Their stories didn't begin with the victory—they went through the valley first.

And you probably don't have to look too far into the Bible to find a test story. Just look into your own story.

When the scans didn't come back clear.
When the test was negative again.
When your prodigal son or daughter still hasn't come home.
When the bank account doesn't make sense.
When you're facing a mountain you don't know how you're going to climb.

That's where faith gets real.

It's easy to have faith when everything is coming up roses. It's much harder when you face blow after blow and still have to choose to trust God.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

So my question to you tonight is simple:

Where is your faith?

It's easy to look at the diagnosis, the bank account, the unanswered prayer, or whatever mountain you're facing and see defeat. But Jesus told us that we don't need a mountain-sized faith to move mountains. We just need faith the size of a mustard seed.

Maybe your faith feels small tonight. Maybe you're tired. Maybe you're struggling to understand what God is doing.

But faith isn't always loud. It isn't always confident. It isn't always pretty.

Sometimes faith is simply saying, “God, I don't understand this, but I still trust You.”

That's faith.

Good afternoon, friends!

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

During my time with the Lord earlier, I found myself thinking about Moses on the mountain and the Lord commanding him to write the Ten Commandments. If you haven't read Exodus 34 in a while, I encourage you to spend some time there. It's a beautiful passage.

One part that always stands out to me is that Moses' face shone from being in the presence of God. When I think about that, I can't help but think of the men and women of faith I've looked up to throughout my life. Have you ever met someone who just seemed to carry a joy, a peace, or a glow about them? Not an attitude of "I'm better than you," but a genuine humility and peace that made you think, "That person has been spending time with the Father."

Those are the kinds of people I've always admired and the kind of person I've always wanted to become.

Earlier today while driving for Uber, a passenger accidentally used a curse word. That doesn't offend me—I understand people are in different places in their journey. But she immediately stopped and said, "I'm sorry. I know this is a Christian space. I can tell you're a believer. I'm still a work in progress."

I thanked her for the apology and reminded her that I'm a work in progress too. The truth is, we all are until we reach glory. There has only ever been one perfect man to walk this earth, and His name is Jesus.

I don't share that story to boast. I share it as an encouragement and a question for all of us:

When people look at your life, do they see the glow of the Father? Do they see evidence that you've been spending time with Jesus?

It's not about being able to quote every Scripture in the Bible. It's not about knowing every worship song by heart. It's deeper than that. It's character. It's the fruit of a life that has been in God's presence. It's something that naturally flows out of us.

We've all gone through seasons where heaviness was written all over our faces, and we've all seen that same heaviness in others. But today I want to encourage you to spend time on the mountain with your Father, whatever that looks like for you.

Spend time in His presence. Sit with Him. Talk with Him. Listen to Him.

As we go into this next week, let's spend enough time with Jesus that people notice the difference. Not so they will think more highly of us, but so they will see Him through us. Then, when people see something different in you—not for your glory, but for His—they may say, "I want that peace. I want that joy. I want that glow."

And when they do, the Holy Spirit will give you the opportunity to tell them where it came from.

Motivational Monday: What Can the Lord Do With a Remnant?

Throughout Scripture and throughout the history of the Church, we see what the Lord can do with a few people who remain faithful to Him. God has never been dependent on large crowds to accomplish His purposes. Time and time again, He has worked through those who were willing to stand when everyone else was walking away.

Romans 11:5 reminds us, "So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace."

When I speak about the remnant, I'm not talking about some spiritual hierarchy or a select group of Christians who think they're better than everyone else. The remnant isn't defined by pride; it's defined by faithfulness. It's made up of ordinary believers who have settled in their hearts, "No matter what comes, I'm following Christ."

No matter what the culture celebrates.
No matter what the political climate becomes.
No matter what social trends demand.
No matter what it costs.

They have already decided that the Word of God is their foundation and that Jesus Christ is worthy of their complete obedience.

As believers, we've all been called to proclaim the gospel. But that mission requires Christians who will remain steadfast, refusing to compromise the truth while continuing to love people well. Every generation needs believers who will stand firmly on God's Word with both conviction and humility.

The question isn't whether God can preserve a remnant. He always has.

The question is: Will we be found faithful?

Motivational Monday

Psalm 1:1–3 (ESV)

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers."

I read that in my devotional last night, and I've already had to put it into practice this morning. It's been a stressful, hectic Monday.

To be honest, sometimes I have to dig deep just to make these Motivational Monday posts because I don't always feel motivated myself. I think, How am I supposed to encourage others when I'm struggling too?

But it's in those moments of weakness that I'm reminded: when I am weak, He is strong.

I don't know Scripture like some scholars, but I'm digging deeper into His Word more and more—not so I can become the smartest theologian, but simply so I can walk in His will.

I pray. I worship. I try to love people well. But without His Word, all of that eventually runs dry. I can't pour out of something that I don't fill up first.

I'm not perfect. Some days I miss my devotional. Some days I read it just to check a box. But let me tell you something: when the hard days come, it's not a soft melody, a catchy quote, or positive thinking that rises up and gives me strength.

It's the holy, infallible Word of God.

His Word anchors us when life gets chaotic. It reminds us who He is, who we are, and where our hope is found.
