🍎Do YOU know the story of the Happy Accident?🥧
Once upon a few Fall Seasons ago 🍂🍁.... the Mia Bella's all natural palm wax candle makers were working hard to stock the shelves with Fall candles. When they pour a fragrance they typically pour hundreds at time to make the most of production. 🤓
On this particular day the fragrances to be poured amongst SEVERAL others were Hot Apple Pie 🍎 and Pecan Pie 🥧 (now named Caramel Pecan Rolls ). As they go through the process, as you may already know, the first full pour goes into the prepared glass jar with all cotton wicks and safety clips that extinguish the wicks once the candle burns to the bottom. The wicks are straightened and held with a metal brace. After the candle has begun to set, the candle maker goes through and checks for perfection by "poking" the wax to release any air bubbles and again making sure wicks are straight. THEN, with the SAME fragrance, they go through and "top off" each candle BY HAND to make sure it's filled to the top with the wax/fragrance blend. (This is what creates our infamous “line” across the top of our wax….it’s a GOOD thing!)🤩
Well on this day, with so many fall fragrances being poured and the HIGH demand from our incredible distributors and customers...things may have gotten a little mixed up. 🫤 Both being brown in color and both smelling amazing, The Hot Apple Pie candles got topped off with Pecan Pie! OOPS! 😬 🍎🥧
As you can probably imagine, our CEO was not happy 😞 and probably had a conversation about "paying attention and focusing on what you are doing" and "boss" stuff like that. 😉
Nonetheless, that day we had a leader call and our CEO was explaining what happened and his disappointment was apparent as he felt that he had over 300 candles that were unsalvageable....not a good feeling for a business owner. 😩 As we listened with respect and empathy to his debacle, we also sat there with our eyes wide open and our mouths watering thinking HOT APPLE PECAN PIE???? YES PLEASE!😳😋
We BEGGED him to have a fun label created and let us purchase them!! We may have said "PRETTY PLEASE do not throw them away!!" 🙏 He did as we asked and those 300 candles sold out in minutes!! In fact, they had to MAKE MORE! It is now one of our most popular FALL fragrances and our distributors and customers CAN. NOT. WAIT. to get their hands on it each FALL since it happened. It is one of my favs for sure and now you know the STORY of the HAPPY ACCIDENT! 💙🌴💚🫙
PS. That employee got taken to lunch the next day!🥰
