MAN ARRESTED FOR SETTING FIRES TO A DAYCARE‼️

DENTON, Texas - The proprietors of a Denton daycare were taken aback to discover that law enforcement officials have linked the suspect responsible for setting their facility ablaze to a series of arson incidents.

The individual apprehended for arson is also accountable for multiple other fires, including a residential fire that tragically resulted in the deaths of an elderly couple.

The Denton police department announced that 36-year-old John Howard Ore now faces two counts of arson leading to bodily injury or death. This revelation prompted daycare owners Charlie and Adrian Torry to reflect on the January evening when they received an alert indicating that the daycare's fire alarm had been activated.

Surveillance footage from January captures the daycare engulfed in flames. In December, Denton firefighters responded to a house fire on Houston Place, where a 103-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman ultimately succumbed to their injuries. Following an extensive investigation lasting several months, their deaths were classified as homicides.

The day prior, a fast-food establishment sustained significant damage from a fire that investigators assert was deliberately ignited. A month later, on January 21, police identified Ore as the individual depicted on the security footage from Tender Loving Care Learning Academy, using a rock to shatter a window and subsequently dousing the floor with gasoline as the fire erupted. Detectives indicated that all three fires exhibited similar methods of ignition.

In addition to capturing a clear image of Ore's face, the outside cameras recorded evidence of a discarded cigarette he left behind. This cigarette was collected as evidence, facilitating a swift arrest in January. Ore now confronts two first-degree felony charges.

His bail has been set at $2.1 million.

In January, the Torrys' daycare was only closed for a brief period to address the resulting damage. Denton police informed them that the clear surveillance footage and the DNA retrieved from the cigarette were instrumental in piecing together the details of the investigation and leading to the subsequent charges.

OAKCLIFF SHOOTING INJURES FEMALE

DALLAS - The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting that has left one woman in serious condition, as reported by officials at the scene. Police received a call regarding the incident at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, located near the intersection of Ann Arbor Avenue and S. Ewing Avenue.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a woman who had sustained gunshot wounds while seated in the passenger side of a vehicle. She was promptly transported to a hospital, where her current condition remains undisclosed.

The vehicle exhibited multiple bullet holes on the passenger side. Officers conducted a search on Saturday night for any potential surveillance footage of the incident.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and there is currently no information regarding the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.

DENTON, Texas - Denton Police have arrested a man they believe was involved in a deadly hit-and-run that took place on April 12.

Witnesses reported that around 2 a.m., a dark sedan struck two women in the 2300 block of Carril Al Lago Drive and did not stop.

Emergency responders rushed 22-year-old Deepthi Vangavolu to the hospital, where she unfortunately passed away from her injuries three days later. The second woman was also hospitalized but is now recovering at home. Her name hasn’t been released by authorities.

During the investigation, police managed to find the car involved, which led them to the driver, 27-year-old Tyras Batson from Denton. He was arrested on April 17 and taken to Denton County Jail. He faces charges for a collision involving death, tampering with evidence, and a collision involving injury. Batson was released after posting a $45,000 bond.

Records from the Denton County Jail show that Batson has been booked there twice before, in 2016 and 2018, both for ma*****na possession.

KAUFMAN, Texas - On Monday, investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety, along with law enforcement from Kaufman and Dallas counties, took action by seizing vehicles, jewelry, fi****ms, and about $4.8 million in cash as part of an ongoing probe.

Troopers were looking into the illegal distribution of controlled substances linked to several businesses operating under the names Sky Rise and ZRD Smoke Shops.

ZRD Smoke Shop is located in Mesquite, while Sky Rise has spots in Mesquite, Forney, Garland, Coppell, Hutchins, and Carrollton. Investigators believe the items seized are connected to illegal activities.

Details about the number of arrests made in connection with this case haven't been shared.

It’s also unclear if all of the store locations were involved in the operation. Since this investigation is still underway, the criminal district attorney has stated that no further information will be released.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD❗️

➡️TITUS COUNTY, Texas — The Titus County Sheriff's Office arrested a man for alleged child s*x abuse.

According to the TCSO, on Friday evening, deputies were told about the s*xual assault of a child by a man who was reportedly in the country illegally. They were informed the man, identified as Jose Garcia Rivera, 37, was likely a flight risk.

They were able to get a search warrant for Rivera and went to his home to take him into custody.

Garcia was arrested and booked into the Titus County Jail where he awaits arraignment.
