If Nicky Halley comes in within 10 percentage points of former President Trump in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primaries tonight, it will be a big win for the former governor of the Palmetto state.
Trump must trounce Halley in the second party nomination race this far, if not, it's a defacto victory for her.
The expectations game is against Trump. He must over perform. She only needs to lose by a small margin, and that could be played as an indirect win. That in a 2-person race against a former president of the United States, in whose administration she served in, she was able to hold her own and prevent him from wrapping up the nomination.
In more ways than one, Halley's campaign depends on what happens in New Hampshire tonight. A good showing gives her momentum, attract new interest as well as more donors.
And it'll be a good way to go into South Carolina, the next stop in this nominations process, the state where she served two terms as governor.
