The Candace Owens debate has sparked arguments over who won, who exposed whom, and whose arguments were stronger. But thereās something deeper happening:
- People can watch the exact same cultural moment and walk away seeing completely different realities.
Why?
Because we often see what we already believe.
If we like someone, we notice their strongest arguments. If we disagree with them, we notice every weakness.
And Christians arenāt immune to this.
Thatās why Scripture has to be our baseline for cultural conversations, not our favorite influencer, political tribe, emotions, or even our preferred interpretation.
Scripture doesnāt just give us truth to defend. It gives us truth that is allowed to correct us.
