Thank you to Quin Mathews Films, Vadim Gluzman, the North Shore Chamber Music Festival and all involved for this lovely and touching tribute to Arkady Fomin. Arkady was such an inspirational and important part of Music in the Mountains for many years, and it is wonderful to see his legacy live on. ❤️
Arkady Fomin Scholarship Fund presents:
A short film about Arkady Fomin by Quin Mathews Films
"To find the right teacher is incredible luck – someone who will guide and direct, someone who will open doors in you. When this teacher becomes your friend, your mentor, your confidant – that is a blessing. I am blessed, always grateful for Arkady’s light and honored to be passing it forward to the next generation of artists." – Vadim Gluzman
The Arkady Fomin Scholarship Fund was created by the North Shore Chamber Music Festival in 2015 to celebrate and perpetuate the legacy and spirit of Arkady Fomin – renowned violinist, beloved teacher and conductor. Mr. left behind a formidable legacy of students and colleagues around the world. His inspiration and guidance touched the lives of hundreds of artists including many of today’s top performers.
Over the past five years, the AFSF has granted scholarship awards to over 40 talented artists from around the world, thanks to the generosity of many wonderful supporters and sponsors. To read about all of these extraordinary young musicians and learn more about our achievements please visit:

During this difficult time, the AFSF is proud to be able to grant two special “Opportunity Awards.” The first grant has gone to the “Play Us Forward” program of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, OH, which provides instruments, instruction, and musical experiences to underprivileged inner-city kids. The second Opportunity Award was given to Gabriel Salinas, a very talented young violinist from Austin, TX, to support his violin studies.
Please help us keep up this important work by supporting the Arkady Fomin Scholarship Fund
