The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office confirmed that , has now been charged with murder.

In addition to the murder charge, Keon King faces multiple counts, including robbery, theft, violating the Uniform Fi****ms Act, possession of an instrument of crime, tampering with evidence, abuse of a co**se, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice, according to officials.

While Kada Scott’s death has been ruled a homicide, the exact cause of death has not yet been made public.

Her father, Kevin Scott is pleading for her daughter return: “I need my daughter home. That’s the only thing I’m looking forward to.” Please keep sharing her face widely. She’s out there somewhere!

Homicide detectives searched East Mount Airy this week, near an abandoned middle school where they found Kada’s phone case and debit card. Yesterday LE returned to that location to search for surveillance video.

Police also towed Keon King’s car from his mother’s condo complex in East Falls as evidence.

Keon King is expected back in court early next month.

Where is Kada?! How can he stay silent about her whereabouts — because telling the truth would mean admitting guilt. He’s not going to do that.
He’s a stalker. He preyed on innocence, and it’s devastating that Kada became his next victim. 💔

She needs to be found — her family deserves answers, and this monster needs to be held accountable!

Philadelphia homicide detectives have taken over the investigation into the disappearance of 23-year-old Kada Scott, who has been missing for more than a week.

Kada Scott was last seen on the night of Saturday, October 4, leaving her job at a senior living facility in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood.

Police have not disclosed why the case has now been transferred to the homicide unit, but the change suggests growing concern about the circumstances of her disappearance.

Police Search Awbury Arboretum for Missing 23-Year-Old Kada Scott

The search for missing 23-year-old led Philadelphia police to the Awbury Arboretum on Friday morning.

Investigators said nothing was found during their sweep of the 55-acre property, but they emphasized that the search for Kada Scott is ongoing and that they are continuing to pursue new leads.

Background on the Case

Kada Scott was last seen by her family on October 4 before leaving to work an overnight shift (10-6pm) at the Terrace at Chestnut Hill senior living facility. According to police, she arrived at the nursing home but left shortly afterward and has not been seen since. Her family reported her missing the following day.

Authorities said Kada Scott’s car was found in the parking lot, and her cell phone has not shown any activity since her disappearance — details that have heightened concern for her safety.

“You have a 23-year-old young lady who has completely disappeared,” said Captain John Craig. “We have no cell phone activity, no social media activity. She has not reached out to family or friends.”

Search Efforts

On Friday morning, officers and K9 units searched the wooded Awbury Arboretum in East Germantown, acting on new leads in the ongoing investigation.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore confirmed that the search did not uncover any evidence connected to Scott’s disappearance. “At this point, we’re just trying to do everything we can,” he said. “We run down every lead to make sure nothing is missed.”

While Vanore did not reveal what led police to the arboretum, he said the search focused on the north side of the property, an area where vehicles commonly enter and exit.

“It’s a troubling missing person report,” Vanore added. “We don’t know if foul play is involved, but there are signs suggesting this person did not leave voluntarily.”

Captain John Craig, commanding officer of the Philadelphia Police Department's Northwest Detective Division, talked at a press conference on Wednesday about finding .

"What's troubling about this case is number one, you have a 23-year-old young lady who has completely disappeared. We have no cell phone activity or social media activity and she's not reached out to family or friends,"

Detectives are currently canvassing the neighborhood for video, interviewing friends and family and analyzing cell phone data. Scott's car has been recovered by police, processed and is being analyzed for evidence.

Police are taking a deep dive all over her social media, looking at internal messages and posts. They say social media was a big part of her life.

"Any information, no matter how small, it would will be of great use to detectives investigating this case.” “No matter what information you have, think of it as a possible piece of a large jigsaw puzzle … if there's a 100 pieces to a puzzle, you may think yours is insignificant, but without your piece, that jigsaw puzzle is not being solved."

"We are heartbroken and terrified. If anyone has seen anything, no matter how small, please contact the police. We just want Kada home safely," the family said to CBS News Philadelphia.
