Yesterday, our Patrol Officers were dispatched to Katie’s Woods Park Boat Ramp, where a Tesla Cybertruck was in the water, near the shoreline. The driver stated he intentionally drove into the lake to use the Cybertruck’s “Wade Mode” feature. The vehicle became disabled and took on water. The driver and passengers abandoned the vehicle and the Grapevine Fire Department Water Rescue Team assisted in removing it from the lake. The driver was arrested on charges of Operation of Vehicle in Closed Section of Park/Lake and numerous water safety equipment violations.
We want to remind drivers that although a vehicle may be physically capable of entering shallow freshwater areas, doing so can create legal and safety concerns under Texas law.

BREAKING: North Texas officially ranked #1 in the nation… for turning a simple 4-way stop into a full-contact sport.

Experts say local drivers have mastered three key techniques:

Treating turn signals as “premium subscription features”
Going 90 mph… or 9 mph… no in-between
And the classic: stopping on the highway to merge safely

Officials are now considering adding obstacle courses to driver’s ed just to better reflect real I-75 conditions.

Stay safe out there… and remember: if you made it home without witnessing a near-miss, it’s probably because you were the near-miss.
