One of the most well-known historic homes in Garland is now for sale, a rare offer in Garland's only residential neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places.

Houston-born, Baylor-educated, retired newspaper journalist, Louis Moore has spent the last 20 years living in and observing life in Garland, Dallas, and North Texas. His writings have appeared widely in U.S. newspapers, magazines and books. He has traveled in 45 countries on 5 continents. His 1985 series on persecuted Jews in the former Soviet Union was nominated for a Pulitzer that year. He has received dozens of awards for his writings and advocacy on selected social issues. He and his wife of 50 years, Kay Wheeler Moore, are involved in historic preservation on the national, state and local level and have received numerous awards and recognitions for their work in this field. They live in Garland’s only residential National Register District, the 107-year-old Travis College Hill Historic District in downtown, Garland, TX.
