You never know who you’re going to run into right here in East Dallas.

We sat down with Detective Daniel Gomez, former Chief Detective from the hit TV show Cheaters, and trust us, he has some stories. Because he lives here, East Dallas stories. 😃😬
We talked about his years on Cheaters, what really goes into being a private investigator, some of the crazier cases he’s worked over his 26 plus years in DFW, and what he’s working on now.

And yes, that includes his new movie, Wong Place Wong Time, starring Gomez himself as Detective Gomez. Because apparently solving cases wasn’t enough. Now he’s making movies too.

This was a fun one. Listen up and tune in!

I’m sure this little guy is hot, but definitely enjoying his white rock lake view, and meal. 😂

PODCAST ALERT ‼️ What if school looked a little less like traditional school and a lot more like the real world?

On the latest episode of What in East Dallas Is Going On?!, Camille and Rich sit down with Loren Colman, founder and superintendent of the Museum School of East Dallas.

This is a different approach to education. Students learn through exploration, real world experiences, community partnerships, cultural institutions, and hands on learning designed to build curiosity and confidence.
And it is happening right here in East Dallas.
We talk about why education needs to evolve, why kids learn differently, and what happens when we stop simply teaching students information and start giving them opportunities to experience what they are learning.

Today, we’re re-airing a very special episode of What In East Dallas Is Going On?! in honor of the late Jim Foster.

What an incredible human, and what an incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Jim was a great friend and supporter of what we were building here in East Dallas, and we’ll always be grateful for his encouragement, his stories, and the wisdom he shared with us.

This episode originally aired in 2023, and listening to it again today makes it even more meaningful.

Incredible insights from an incredible man.
If you haven’t heard this conversation, we hope you’ll take some time to listen today.
Thank you, Jim. You will be missed, but your stories and your impact will live on.

Dallas lost a great one.

We are saddened by the passing of Jim Foster, a former Dallas County Judge, Dallas historian, and truly wonderful human being.
We had the privilege of having Jim on the What in East Dallas Is Going On?! podcast early on, and we’ll be re-airing that conversation in his honor.

Jim was a huge supporter of what we were building with Visit East Dallas from the beginning. He believed in telling the stories of our community because he understood just how important those stories are. We’ll always be grateful for his encouragement, his friendship, and his love for Dallas.

Our condolences go out to Jim’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.

Rest easy, Jim. And thank you for everything. 🤍

Congratulations to Loren Colman and everyone at the Museum School of East Dallas!

This photo was when she spoke to the Exchange Club of East Dallas just a few weeks back.

We had the chance to talk with Loren a few years ago when so much of this was still a dream and a vision of what could be. Now, the doors are officially open and students are walking through them.

That’s pretty incredible.

And this is only the beginning.

Take a few minutes to check out what the Museum School of East Dallas is doing and the work they’re putting into our community. This is about more than opening a school. It’s about creating opportunities, investing in kids, and helping shape the future of East Dallas for generations to come.

Congratulations to the entire team. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
