In a recent appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, T-Pain warned that people should not trust everyone who calls them "brother," explaining that many in the music industry use the term for personal gain.
His central message was that "Everybody's your brother while they can use you", and that genuine loyalty is rare in the business. He prefers a straightforward business arrangement rather than "fake promises of brotherhood".
T-Pain specifically called out DJ Khaled as an example of someone who used the term "brother" without true meaning, despite their past collaborations, such as the 2010 hit "All I Do Is Win". He explained that he would have preferred if people were upfront about the transactional nature of their relationships.
