Dear Coaches, Players, Ownership and the Dansville Gliders Community:

As the 2025 summer season with the Dansville Gliders comes to an end, I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who made this experience special.

To Coach Dell & Coach Heigh — Thank You for your dedication and hard work throughout the Summer. You both stepped up and did an amazing job. I could not have done this without either of you!

To My Players — Thank you for the grind, the laughs, and the unforgettable memories. It was a privilege to be able to coach you this summer. We battled some adversity at the beginning of the season, but we came together as a team and played hard, which is all I asked from each of you when I took over! Again, thank you for sticking with me and putting your trust in me!

Caitlyn — Thank You for making sure everything was taken care of. You were literally a jack of all trades. You organized the camps, school visits, created our social media content, ran all game day operations and so much more! Best of luck!

Host Families — There is NO WAY we could exist without you! I appreciate you welcoming my players into your homes and making them apart of your family! The bonds they built with you will last a lifetime!

To Our Fans – Your passion and energy made every game feel like something special. Whether we were home at Babcock Park or on the road, your support never went unnoticed. You gave us momentum when we needed it most, and your cheers meant more than you know. Thanks to the best fanbase in the NYCBL!

To Ownership and Board – Thank you for your vision, your commitment to this organization, and for giving myself and the players the opportunity to grow in such a competitive and supportive environment. Your hard work behind the scenes made everything possible, and I am grateful to be part of what is being built here in Dansville.

This summer was more than just baseball. It was about building relationships, learning lessons, and embracing the journey. I'm grateful to have been a part of this team and wish everyone the best!

With appreciation,
Mike Bassage
Head Baseball Coach – Dansville Gliders

The Dansville Chamber Events Committee is pleased to announce the theme for Winter in the Village 2025 (Saturday, December 6).

FROSTED HOLIDAYS

Think:
*frosted window panes (listen to The Christmas Waltz for inspiration)
*frosted sugar cookies
*Frosty the Snowman
*about synonyms for frosted, like frozen, chilled, icy ...
*winter holidays

We love how our community -- particularly our downtown business and building owners -- embrace the theme in their decorations! We cannot wait to see your creativity!

Lady Mustangs Short-Circuit Chargers'

Dansville 41 Canisteo-Greenwood 37

As people readied themselves to welcome winter, girls basketball
action was hotly contested at "the Corral" on Friday (Dec. 20) night as
a pair of strong hoop programs got together with Dansville hosting
previously unbeaten Canisteo-Greenwood. After the Chargers had mounted a
10 point lead early in the second half, Coach Arin Belden's team got hot
& would overtake the Steuben County team en route to a 41-37 victory.
The game opened with the Chargers grabbing the early lead, & each time
coach Collin Button's club would try to pull away, the Mustangs would
come sneaking back into it. C-G held a slim 11-8 edge after one period
of play as Harlie McCaffery was getting it done down low, while Bailey
Mullen was doing the outside work. The Chargers looked to take a 5 point
lead in at the half, but Mustangs sharp-shooter Megan Tyler buried a
"trey" making it a 2 point game (18-16) at the break.

Canisteo-Greenwood would come out shooting in the 3rd as they nailed
back-to-back 3's by Bailey Mullen & Anna Mitchell. The Chargers would
open the half on an 8-0 run to push the lead to 26-16. As was the
pattern of the contest, Dansville simply kept chipping away as their
full court pressure defense forced the visitors into a few turnovers
that Dansville would capitalize on down-court. The southern tier squad
held a 29-25 advantage heading into the final 8 minutes. Coach Belden's
group would quickly respond as they would see Taylor Hamsher bury one
from "downtown" making it a 1-point game. Moment later Hamser assisted
on a give-and-go in the paint & Megan Tyler's bucket with 6:49 left gave
the Mustangs their first lead of the night (30-29). It didn't stop there
as Tyler hit another field goal & Emily Versluis connected from long
range to open the 4th with a 10-0 run putting Dansville in front 35-29.
The home team would hold the lead the rest of the way despite missing a
few key free throws that "left the door open" for the Chargers. Taylor
Hamsher bagged a pair of charity tosses with :20 left to ice things away
as the Mustangs would hand C-G their first loss of the season by a 41-37
final.

Dansville (4-1) was led by Megan Tyler's 20 points, Taylor Hamsher added
10, Morgan Ball 5, Emily Versluis & Kassidy Cole had 3 each in the win.
Dansville heads into the Avon Tournament on Friday Dec. 27th.
Canisteo-Greenwood (6-1) was paced by Bailey Mullen's 14 points, McKenna
Ferris & 8th grader Paris May each contributed 6, Harlie McCaffery 5, &
3 each for Anna Mitchell & Mackenna Mullen. The Chargers will be taking
part in the Keshequa Christmas Tournament.

J.V.- Dansville 40- Allison O'Connor & Colleen Metcalfe each had
10...Samantha O'Connor 8...Jaylynn Bridge 5, Anna Ames 2 & Ryan Forshee 2

Cannisteo-Greenwood 33- Adalyn Andrus 17, Jamila Patrick 7, Raegan
Freeland 7, Lexi Winslow 2.
